I think you can only trade with bitcoins offline with the medium of physical coins which has bitcoins stored in them. Such use is much rare so i think that it could not be implemented that. Infact using bitcoins offline is not thay carried forward untill now and i think that bitcoins are only a currency that mist be used online.

Well, as far i know, bitcoin transaction required internet to be processed. If there is a way to send or receive bitcoin without internet,
then it will be great because you don't need to afraid in the location where internet network coverage cannot reached.

I think this is not possible. In order to access BTC internet is required.I don't this without internet or electricity using and cryptocurrency is possible. In future anything can happen but according to me doing this will not be possible at any cost.If doing this will become possible that i think it will make our work easy because in the absence of internet one can do any transaction.

No internet, we have nothing, so the transaction is confirmed need a network of Node. No internet, no Node

The internet is a network for us to interact with each other, without the internet we will not get any information, and without the internet, there will be no blockchain or bitcoin names.

I'm from Nigeria and as you all know, Nigeria is a developing country and when it comes to internet connections we're not there yet. I live in the city area but travelled to my village few days ago for an occasions. On the way, I got a call from a friend requesting to buy $550 worth of bitcoin, I tried sending the coins to his wallet (he's a regular buying so I already have his wallet) but the transaction refused to go through because their was no internet connection. When I finally got to my village the transaction went successfully because we had internet.

After this experience I thought about other remote villages in Nigeria and African countries that don't have the Internet 24hours if they were to use Bitcoin (cryptocurrency in general) for day to day transaction can this be done without the internet?

I tried searching the web but couldn't find any post that gives me a satisfying answer, so decided to contact forum user.

Edited: 04|10|2018 Can anyone verify this information, how accurate is it?.

Good timing on posting this question now.  Some recent advancements have just been made in this area.  The latest version of Bitcoin Core has implemented 'Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions', or PSBT for short.  It will effectively enable users to send transactions while offline in some circumstances.
Also just saw a post on facebook saying

The writer went forward to explain, 'The mesh network works for every 4miles until it gets to the nearest access to the internet. That's to say you can send bitcoin through the mesh network from one mesh to another within 4miles until you get the nearest access to the internet".

Based on the caption on that image means it still can be sent without internet because it's need the internet to execute the transaction.
So i think, we cannot do transaction without the internet

Frankly speaking we cant do what you did without Internet. There are many countries in the world which are still lacking in having a good stable Internet. Its one of the weaknesses in cryptocurrencies being used as real medium.

Bitcoin is digital currency and its only using on online-based, not your local currency. So without an internet connection, you cannot do anything. Now Bitcoin is using all over the world but it's not international currency like USD or euro so if you want to use bitcoin and send one to another person must be needed internet connection

YES! Bitcoin can be sent Offline! there's many ways of doing this actually!

First of all you need to generate the transaction offline on your QT, then you can Either;

1: put the transaction on a USB and mail it (it's slow but it works) once your friend gets the USB he can plug it in and brodcast it...to the internet tho.
2: CB radio! this really cool Smiley http://betteroffbitcoin.com/a-protocol-for-offline-bitcoin-over-radio-transactions/
3: diaosjd982j3mklidsjjd sdfsd omdkslfsi j9sijfo2k msdf iwioekmls kdfnieosfkl s,

however, all "receivers" needs internet at one point for the transaction to broadcast to the network.
i guess if you use option #2 and set up a hub in a city where you have internet, you could shoot all transactions to that hub and have them verified from there (automatically)

i think option #2 would probably be best for you and "small villages" but it requires some work.

If mesh network can be used for sending or receiving bitcoins, then how can we connect to the mesh network ?
Connecting the mesh network to the other's network will need internet too, right ? But if it really can be happened, it will be great for us.

I think internet is not a very big problem because nowadays internet is everywhere. But this is also true that without internet it is not possible to transfer bitcoin. There are many places in world, where internet is a very big problem but after see peoples interest in Bitcoin, many companies is researching to made software for easily transfer Bitcoin without any internet connection in future. And according to me,that day is not too far, when we can see that Bitcoin is being transferred without internet.

I think it is not possible right now to sent or received bitcoin without any use of the internet. But if the mesh network can make it possible, then it's very well thing. But how could we reach towards the mesh network without using the internet?

A big No! Bitcoin and altcoins are crypto currencies and are not having any physical existence. So that thing cannot be used as a consideration which is not physically present. So if you want to use crypto, internet connection is must.
You can request your government to provide internet facilities in rural areas.

I don't think this is possible as to the latest Technology bitcoin was built on. All transactions and access go through the medium of internet, I don't see anything been done without the access of the internet. But maybe in the later future we might have an offline bitcoin or even blockchain transaction

we really can't do anything about bitcoin when we don't have an internet network, but I'm sure when bitcoin is legal in the world the government will find a solution.

If you have a HAM radio license look into "packet radio". Code has been developed to run a node over the air. I just got licensed to find out more.

With the loss of net-neutrality it will be critical to move the blockchain off the internet. It may just be a few more years before you will pay a fee to your ISP every time you use crypto. Or perhaps it wont be allowed at all? Without net-neutrality your internet service provider has exclusive control of your internet use and can make any rule they like.

I think your question once again exposes one of the big weakness of cryptocurrency. It is generally called digital currency because it involves usage with internet gadget. However, it is even better that the receiver need not be connected to the internet to facilitate the transaction. It would have been nice if there was an option of internet usage and manually. Maybe internet being for faster transaction and manual for those who don't mind waiting  Roll Eyes

Yes. Well, I think this is also one of the cons of bitcoin, you can not used it in some areas where internet signals are weak or did not reach. Mesh network is good to used if you have also an internet and transfer to another. But how about the remote area they can not used bitcoin to their transactions. Thats why we can not say that cryptocurrency could replace fiat.

Yeah very sure it can be sent with the paper wallet without the internet. But for the paper wallet I don't really believe in it because its not so safe for me. As for trading I don't know much about it.

Unfortunately not, but in the future we hope to see internet covers every single corner of the world so we are able to access it anywhere anytime. That way we do not have to be worried about not being able to send/receive Bitcoin due to lack of internet.
