In case of our local board, circulation of Merit is getting decreasing very much.

May 2018 ・・・ ・・112
June 2018 ・・・・・46
July 2018  ・・・・・65
August 2018・・・ ・15
September 2018 ・ ・8

It might there were no good posts worthy of a Merit, so Merit Source does not distribute Merit. But if there is no good post at our local board, I think it is also possible to distribute Merit in another section.

Also, I understand their business may be very busy, and it seems tough to spend lot of time to Bitcointalk (probably it will be without paying.),but also I want them to fulfill a role, because they were chosen.

At the moment, I am not sure whether it is better for Merit Source to actively distribute the merit or not,
but I think circulation of Merit is important for each local board to be more active and more helpful ideas come.

I hope our local board will be more active. Because to receive more replies to my posts will improve my idea better. First of all, listening to a lot of opinions is a lot of fun.
I thought that it is necessary the Merit source people who have lots of knowledge to help our local board to be more active.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

In case of our local board, circulation of Merit is getting decreasing very much.

Circulation of merit is decreasing around the entire forum and not exclusively your local board.

I am not sure whether it is better for Merit Source to actively distribute the merit or not

It does not matter whether you are sure or unsure on this matter, because it is not your place to tell merit sources how to distribute their merit. These people were chosen because their ability for discernment is up to par with the expectations of theymos. They have their own criteria, and will merit the posts they feel are deserving of merit.

I hope our local board will be more active.

This is the issue, not that the sources are not distributing their merit, but that there is not enough activity warranting of merit distribution.

Merit sources get a certain number of merits every month when that month ends; unsent points are wasted.
If these members are busy, it is better to give higher averages to some other people to distribute.

In the end, it is up to the sources, and a lot of analysis will show whether more resources are needed or not.

I don't know exactly what is the problem in your local section, but i do understand that people sometime get busy in real life and have not much time to read or discover new and meritable posts. Maybe in the next months the number of merit sources will be increased again.

Then i believe it doesn't really matter if the merit sources spend 1-5-10-100% or their merits quota for each period, as long as good posts get merited.

I think it is also possible to distribute Merit in another section.
Merit sources are not bound to merit in specific board, imo, and should not be bound too.

unsent points are wasted.
Is that correct? Any statement on this? I'm just curious.
unsent merits get accumulated with the next month's merit. There is nothing like wasted or burnt, IMO. Am I correct?

i do understand that people sometime get busy in real life and have not much time to read or discover new and meritable posts.
IMO, this should not be the way of +merit a post. Merit sources should be act like normal people/member, I meant they should be usual. Putting extra effort for only +merit posts = a duty which is not the purpose of creating merit sources.

Correct. Here's an excerpt from merit source page
For me (and other sources), it is. My merit page reads
"You are a merit source. The next XXX merit you spend will come from your source rather than your sMerit balance. Merit spent from your source will come back in 30 days. Unused source merit is wasted. It is not allowed for merit sources to sell their merit."
Thank you, buddy. That's what I was looking for.

You need to understand the difference between Merit, sMerits and source sMerits. We are talking about source sMerits here and they get wasted every month.
Sorry, not a personal attack. I think you have little problem with understanding English. Till now, I have seen two posts from you and from both, I got a feeling like "You didn't read the post on which you have made comment."

I understand the differences between merit, sMerit and merit source source sMerits[?].

In case of our local board, circulation of Merit is getting decreasing very much.

I think this is a general trend across the forum which could also be directly related to the quality of posts in the threads. Merit sources are looking for those posts that standout and contribute to good topic discussions.

At the moment, I am not sure whether it is better for Merit Source to actively distribute the merit or not, but I think circulation of Merit is important for each local board to be more active and more helpful ideas come.

Well definitely it would be ideal if merits could be distributed to all members that contribute on the forum. However, we all know with the increase in signature campaigns and bounties there's also been a increase in new members and low quality spam posts. So merit sources will only reward members that actually contribute quality content and help keep the forum useful to projects, developers, and investors alike.

Does a class teacher simply distribute "A" grades to students simply because he or she is at the liberty to do so??Not at all , to earn an "A" you must have wowed in your test and exams...

Should merit sources simply hand out merits because they are at the liberty to do so??...
Not at all, they decide which post is worth being merited and if they do not find any, I don't mind them not giving any out all through the month

The integrity of the forum is utmost priority!!!

You need to understand the difference between Merit, sMerits and source sMerits. We are talking about source sMerits here and they get wasted every month.

Here is my latest suggestion to to rollover the source merit.

From your post history, I can guess that you come from Japan or at least speak Japanese. I also know that the Japanese are very hard working so your local merit sources may not be very active. But you are luckier than me, mate. You have a local board and merit sources in your board.

At the moment, I am not sure whether it is better for Merit Source to actively distribute the merit or not,
Not really. Each merit source has his own standards in giving merit. Some tend to hoard their smerit rather than awarding low or average quality post. I'm not sure what your problem is but if you find it hard to earn merit in your local board, then try other English boards.

Merit sources receive such notice.

All these things to motivate the members to spend their sMerits, even if you do not have time to send all increase the average, "3 merit/ great post, 1/good post."

The reason for choosing is often a particular board, "sources for local boards," but this does not prevent spending on all.

I've got a bag of source merits waiting to be awarded ( well it's really Jet Cash's bag ), and it is difficult to find posts to reward. Every day's delay in awarding my source merits means a delay of one day in their regeneration. I am aware of this, but I believe that is is counter productive to award merits recklessly. I've seen the destruction in the world economy that has been created by toxic debt, and I don't feel that lending merits to members with the promise of future great posts is the answer. Awarding merits to enable members to increase rank without a requirement for creating a product is the equivalent of creating a merit debt structure here.

Merit is a motivation for one to change his/her ways in this forum. Constant feed backing with the merited post will help one to develop his skills in participating actively in the forum. One should be keep motivated especially if one has a potential skill that could step up the posting habit. And if one will not be encourage to do the right thing then it could resort to create more alt accounts. This is what happen to some other members here that has relatively more alt accounts. Anyway, even the higher rank has also their alt accounts.

However, good things does not start from doing good. One could learn his lessons from the bad things that happen. I do bounty hunting for some time and was able to realize that it does not compensate well and I bet I have to go back to trading in crypto and made some discussion here in this thread.

For some reasons I have really learn my lessons in this forum.

June 2018 ・・・・・46
July 2018  ・・・・・65
August 2018・・・ ・15
September 2018 ・ ・8
<...>
What has happened in the Japanese local board is that nearly all the awarded sMerit is being done basically by two people. Both of these have dropped radically (not nullified) the number of sent sMerits to the Local board (and in general) over the months of August and September 2018, therefore making a large dent on the Receiver’s side of the local board.
Obviously we do know the reasons (lack of sMerit, pause from the site, lack of interesting posts, etc.), but in cases such as this, where sMerit awarding is in the hands of one or two, any bump on the road is highly noticeable.

What I have seen is that there is a strong decrease in the number of posts over time in the Japanese local board:
Code:
Date	                 nPosts	DiffToNextMonth
04/05/2018               35226          1428
02/06/2018               36654          1016
02/07/2018               37670          583
05/08/2018               38253          501

05/10/2018               39193          --
There is obviously a correlation there, but which is the main driver of it all I cannot tell (less posts because there is less merits and less incentive, or less posts and therefore likely less to merit on the whole).

I have just register fit to talk forum since I am not a native English speaker so this will help a lot.

It is not easy to deliver an idea constructively specifically in an opening message for the post. Thus, the sentence for the post must be relevant to the body of the message that conveys the idea. Relatively I had some difficulties in this part. I wish to know more about this so I decided to join the forum. Hopefully my registration will be approve.

And I would like to apologize if this reply would be considered as an off topic but please do consider that  the correct way of using English grammar would lead to a better post and would definitely will get some merits. The right way of constructing grammar would be part of this discussion since it was being brought up as a consideration in getting merits.

Thanks for signing up, and I have approved your application.

You can construct a thread starting post by posting on your local language board on Bitcoin Talk, and then linking to it in Fit to Talk. Alternatively you can start the thread on Fit to Talk for discussion with the other members.  We have got some Spanish translators, but we are a bit short of other languages. You can get started with the translation by using Google translate to post the topic on Fit to Talk. Don't do this on Bitcoin Talk, because it is really annoying to find Google speak here as a final post. However it is useful as a starting point, and we can sanitise and improve on the translation before you post the result in Bitcoin Talk. You will get full credit for the topic, but make sure you clarify the origin of the post to avoid any risk of a plagiarism accusation.

I understand that to get Merit is not the original purpose on this forum, but also it will be a motivation to make good posts.
What I wanted to say the the most is that I want our local board to be more active. For that, first of all I would like to improve my own knowledge and the quality of post.
(It is said that there are 3 Merit sources in Japanese board.)

From your post history, I can guess that you come from Japan or at least speak Japanese. I also know that the Japanese are very hard working so your local merit sources may not be very active. But you are luckier than me, mate. You have a local board and merit sources in your board.

Yes, I'm Japanse, and I'm very happy with my mother language local board. I wish your mother language local board will be available soon!

Tactac is a member of Fit to Talk, and I would be happy to work with him to create some English language discussion threads for any of these boards - Beginners, Political or Serious discussion. If we can create some good starter posts, then I can guarantee him some merits.

Thank you for your help in Fit to Talk! I will try hard to improve my knowledge and English skills!

I have just register fit to talk forum since I am not a native English speaker so this will help a lot.

This is great to see that we have some new members (or a new member at least) the fit to talk forum seemed to look like it was getting a bit dry recently (maybe I'll check on it tomorrow and see if there are any posts for me to imporve over the weekend - I assume jet cash and a few others have been doing that quite a bit though in my absence)... Let's hope we get a new boost to our community there!
