Humans make mistakes. permabans without warning is exactly same as execution. Im sure everyone made mistake, either here or in real life! So you should get banned on life because of mistakes? Where is mercy and kindness ?

I See many Spammer after getting banned , goes in marketplace, purchase new account and start again!  
But There are the ones who know they made mistake! i really know it was my fault. And i would never create new account.
Pls Just Add some flexible rules, To Grant a new chance to regretful people.

Unfortunately my main account received Autoban ( i was not part of any bounty or other crappy campaigns).

IMO, permabans for plagiarism should stand.  Copy/pasting is usually a clear case of wrongdoing and something everyone should know not to do.  If you make the consequence for that a temporary ban, people will just keep doing it until they get caught--which they're basically doing anyway.  Plagiarism isn't a mistake people are making.  In fact, if you're getting permabanned here, it's usually a certainty that the person isn't making a mistake at all.  They know exactly what they're doing and they know it's wrong.

Where is mercy and kindness ?

Oh, please.  You can't deal with the level of idiocy bitcointalk is seeing with mercy or kindness.  Such sentiments will only give incentive for plagiarists and others to keep breaking the rules and making the forum worse than it already is.

If it was merely a mistake by a user, or a one-time thing, i would be inclined to agree.

In practice however this usually isn't the case. 99% of the people who are getting banned are people who are doing this for monetary gain, and systematically. Giving them a second chance would only pollute the forum even more.

Which means you have to choose between making exceptions for everyone, and no one. I guess the forum (rightly so) chose the latter.

In regards to your "mistakes" I'm guessing you mean plagiarism.

For less serious offences there are varying lengths in Bans, which can act as warnings. Many older members have been hit by those and have had to learn from that. What they didn't do was steal someone else intellectual property and pass it off as their own.

The only people here trying to get these bans reduced or removed are just going to fill the boards with spammy shitposts, and when they need to look like they are trying to get out of jr. status they'll plagiarize. Not to mention there is no "accidentally" doing this. If you copy/paste a portion or entire article, you are more than capable of doing the same for the source.

IRL, plagiarism gets you expelled from a college. Copy/pasting ain't human error, intentional to steal someone else's work, same as stealing gets you landed in jail. In this forum plagiarism comes down to greed and being too lazy, flexibility would be too much to ask.

Like hilariousetc mentioned on another thread, maybe Sig can be removed for a time period for plagiarists, but nothing less than an year. Guess flexible and a chance for the regretful to correct their mistakes or leave.

Everyone who registers on this forum is advised to stay on read mode for a little time and hence get acquainted with what the forum is about and most especially forum rules,if there were no rules,then your claim could be welcomed,but the rules are there for everyone to see,in schools various offences attract different punishments,in this forum plagiarism is strictly frowned upon and attracts a perma ban.

2. People who have account hacked are still waiting for their account unlocked for almost an year. They are also ready to give the payments for their accounts. Can't you see a very busy admin here who is not able to help the users who are following rules in the forum?
3. Money does not matter to him so stop offering him any money related suggestion to him.

Ban evading isn't enforced. You simply could create a new account and carry on with spamming/plagiarism until you're caught again and another new account.

But since now the restrictions are there, a below Jr member losing an account isn't as easy a solution to create a new one and level up within a month or two.

So giving another chance for above JrM's banned for plagiarism is a bit too much to ask when there is no guarantee they have learnt their lessons.

Better solution, create a new account, if you're not breaking any rules and making average posts, not exceptional, getting merits within a year or two would get you further on this forum than whining over this account now.

As others have already said, copy and pasting isn't a mistake and staff shouldn't have to waste time giving people warnings for this. It's probably one of the worst sins you can do here and people should just read the rules because there's no excuses for plagiarism and you should know or expect that this isn't acceptable under any circumstances. This is a discussion forum, not a place to copy and paste other's content. If you do that then you're doing it for only one reason: to get paid. It's pure greed and laziness and if you're the sort of person that does this then we don't want or need you here as you aren't interested in contributing anything worthwhile. The only amendment I would ever consider to this rule would be either the permanent or long-term removal of the signature and you can still post, and maybe after 6/12 months of contributing you can get it back if you've earned enough merit or something, but even then maybe you shouldn't be allowed to claim bounties either. Regardless, I would suggest people just read the rules and stop fucking copy and pasting then you won't be permabanned and the problem is solved. Staff don't like having to ban people for this but there needs to be harsh message sent that this isn't acceptable at all and those caught will pay the ultimate price for doing so.

Your request would not be granted for it will make things more complicated allowing you to lift the ban will let others to go and ask theymos to do the same thing. Even if I were theymos I would not lift the ban for a good reason that when join a forum you should respect the admin and the post of the people you copied and owned it as owned it for that is Plagiarism.

Plagiarism is a serious offense even in the real life situation. Thus, will let you get in jail for it.
