Are there more women in crypto that I am unaware of? It seems most of the big influencers are men. I watched this video of Galia Benartzi from Bancor and I thought this is someone we should be hearing a lot more of, anyone else I have been missing.

In my opinion, it makes no difference whether it is a man or a woman, because only what they say is important for us.

Because women are not that good when it comes to business and technical things. It's an evolutionary thing. Men were taking risks by going for a hunts etc. and women stayed in a cave and protected their home/ children. It's still valid. Of course there is lot of women that will take risks and lot of men who won't, but not majority.

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/may/17/consensus-2018-conference-bitcoin-satoshi-is-female

"Certain women are already gaining recognition, among them Perianne Boring, founder and president of the Chamber of Digital Commerce, billing itself as the world’s largest trade association representing the blockchain industry."

Pretty normal imo that men are more associated with it, as it is perceived as risky and technical. Men are generally more interested in things, women in people (according to Nietzsche men just want danger and play)

As the applications increase and life becomes increasingly intertwined with the digital world, it'll become a universal necessity to be crypto competent and gender will have nothing to do with it.

Cave? Seriously? I agreed it's in a woman's nature to be tamed, safe and gentle. But then again as you said, some are brave and can easily handle risks. However, there's a high chance that some are not interested in business stuffs (and it's not that they're not brave or talented enough) Rather, they prefer the simple life over the complicated ones Smiley

You do realise you are generalising even though you want to make it appear as if you are not. I personally know a group of crypto enthusiasts where the women are actually in majority. They have stated they won't expose themselves as women online though, because first of all in crypto gender does not matter and there is so much prejudice against them. The dude you are debating with may easily be a woman. Same as in online gaming, there are many women that won't reveal their gender because it simply does not matter and they don't have to listen to some sexist bullshit. Gender hardly matters anymore in most areas of human life except of course in family planning and some other.

Wow this opened up a can of worms.

The more women that get into crypto can only be a positive, the more people in crypto- the better. Gender is irrelevant when it comes to participation, it isn't just men that make the world go round!

From what i see on my twitter there are some women on there who are very enthusiastic about crypto in general. Some of their content is fantastic and more often than not, they have a totally different perspective to men regarding TA/FA whereby a lot of us men are looking for immediate $$$ and profits.

I'm glad they have evolved from their "caves" to join us.....

I know a university lecturer (woman) who had some 500 bitcoins back in the days when it was worth $1 and she sold them. She was exposed to Blockchain before many other people but I guess she didn't believe in it (who would have anyway?).

There are a few threads on the forum looking to see if and how many women there are in crypto.

Does it matter? Whats the fascination?

We dont read threads looking to see how many people under 20 there are or how many over 60's there are, or how many people have helicopters?

Ratio wise, there are of course more men then women in this industry, though you'd be surprised how many men are disguised as women on these crypto forums, and perhaps the women that are involved and aren't public faces are disguised behind men profiles?

I would agree. Even considering the fact that gender is irrelevant as long as you have a set of skills, qualifications etc, there is a certain prejudice which makes some female not reveal their gender. And if you can keep a conversation on the same level, who cares, right?

I have to block most of them on twitter. All the basement dwelling degens like all of their valueless tweets just because they're women and they show up on my feed . Some of them have 20k followers and provide no FA, TA , or decent shit posts.

I think we have less women in crypto because they are not risk takers like their male fork just as the case with gambling, we have more males that gamble than women which isn't a coincidence as they two are very much alike!

Women have always been involved in the Technology, but we notice  her lack of  in cryptocurrencies. I think the first reason is that many of the early followers of Bitcoin were mostly male programmers. But now, the gap between women and male is dwindling.

Correct, i dont get this question which pops up regularly about women in crypto, its irrelevant
where they are and who they are. The same applies in business or any industry.
If they can do the work and produce results there is no issue.

I was able to be a part of a bounty, traxion is the name and if i am not mistaken the ceo is a woman/female, so literally that chick is a crypto enthusiast and knows how to play with it.

I'll hope cryptocurrency will not be led by feminist in the future.

CRYPTO MUST SAY NO TO WOMEN
YES TO MEN.

LOL.
