Im really sure there still altcoins that is worthy to invest. Not because of its popularity but because of the good platform and good service that ico offers. Some existing altcoins that I believe worthy to invest is Tron and dent . For this two has a good development all over the year.

What concerns the first question - if you want to invest, choose bitcoin only. In any case, be cautious. What concerns the second question - don't waste your time! You'd better do your regular job, that'll be more profitable!

In general It depends on your view on the whole market . If you believe that crypto market will go up once again, then ,yes, definitely it is a good idea to buy some promising coins which has good potential but i believe that few 100 is enough since a lot of coins can easily go 50x.

All altcoins are invest at your own risk,so any recommendations that you're going to get from this thread consider this investment with risk,the only profitable altcoins now are those listed in the top 10 in the coinmarketcap, there were a lot of new coin,but you should use your own judgment if you're going to invest.
But now many ICO are scams

The thing with altcoins is that you are actually looking at the long term promise to be able to get the best from them, and a lot of them are not established market, so there is nothing guaranteed with them to be able to be certain if the long term is actually going to be a reality or not, which is why a lot of investors try as much as possible to at least, try to do due diligence, look at the possibilities and long term prospect, before eventually making a final decision at all on any project they want to invest in.
