I apologizes for hard question since scam's aren't moderated by forum. Does it mean forum will prevent us to expose scam?

Usually we have been updating and warn peoples after open scam accusation by reply on their thread. It means peoples will aware and team should reply on accusation if they are real. I am not sure why my reply has been deleting. Previously also my similar reply got delete.

Current reply was about exit scam. Team has run a ICO previously, I am not sure they scammed or not. But they had not paid bounty hunters and they are lying that they haven't raised single dollar. Accusation is here.

Is it really off-topic ? The reply wasn't better than "Grate project" ?

Maybe those kind of posts needs to be only in the scam accusation section so posting this kind of post in their ANN or bounty thread might be considered as off topic comments.

But I saw marlboroza warned some of the bounty threads by posting these kind of comments those also got deleted?

Maybe the big bold print annoyed someone and they didn't want to click the link. Or someone reported it as a phishing link and it just got deleted.

I don't think they would censor such a post, but if it means so much to people that want to avoid being exit-scammed, can they not do some sort of research into these coins/teams. The forum isn't supposed to censor scams unles they're glaringly obvious that they are scams.

The mods in tha altcoin section are quite active here (especially Welsh) maybe they could shed some light on this issue.

Q: Why haven't you banned <insert scammer username here> who is an obvious scammer?
A: Possible (or real, not for me to decide) scams are not moderated to prevent moderator abuse. If we start picking out which ones we call "scammers" and ban, we would make a lot of decisions based on biased opinions.

Q: Do you moderate/delete (possible) FUD, accusations and untrue information?
A: No. We don't have enough time to check every single piece of information and verify the validity of the sources. Also, just like scams - too much room for bias and abuse.

The forum does not moderate and delete possible scams and untrue information, so yeah, they don't really meddle with these things. However, your post must have been reported by one of the users and was deleted due to it being off-topic and repetitive, and those are criteria for a post being deleted into oblivion. If you think someone is trying to scam anyone, feel free to post your accusations with all your evidence @ Scam Accusations board where it isn't likely to be deleted and you can express your sentiment towards a certain service/user.

Maybe those kind of posts needs to be only in the scam accusation section so posting this kind of post in their ANN or bounty thread might be considered as off topic comments.

But I saw marlboroza warned some of the bounty threads by posting these kind of comments those also got deleted?
It happened only one time, mprep explained it:

Warning users that a project is a scam is not off-topic. Posting the same thing to several threads might be considered multi-posting / duplicate posting (especially if the threads said duplicate posts were posted in are about the same project).

So it must be it  Roll Eyes

Or maybe, proof that any of these projects is scam isn't solid and/or it doesn't exist, perhaps one project didn't collect any money so this will make it "fail ICO", and they launched another ICO with different idea? There is huge difference between exit scam and fail ICO.
If that was the case, maybe post was reported as spam?

Bitcointalk cannot prevent scams, so there is no point in saying that it will moderate them. Its not possible, so its sort of the same deal as using Craigslist. Protect yourself from scams, if you can't then don't invest/buy things/etc here.

Saying, the post is less spammy than the spamiest posts isn't a great defense. The moderators here really do use a lot of common sense when deleting posts, especially with regards to scam accusations. At the same time, just because it is related to a scam warning, it doesn't give immunity to moderator action. Otherwise people would abuse that, and just wrap all of their spam in a veil of "reason" to not have their posts deleted. You probably wouldn't believe how many identical posts to what you posted I've seen. If you are legitimately trying to warn people against something, make sure (1) its valid to post in the thread you are. Posting about scammer X in some unrelated person's tech help thread, will get it removed even if valid. (2) Try making the post have some substance, include details, why you think/know its a scam. "Stay away from exit scammers, read here:" doesn't look much different to me than, I'm in, or great job! (3) Make sure the post can stand on its own. There are some exceptions, but if you want your posts not to be deleted, its best if they don't look similar to spam posts.

I too had a warning message posted on ANN topic that got deleted by a mod not long ago.

I have to agree with mprep that posts like that can be viewed/perceived as duplicate posting as it's stating the same thing on two different boards.

Let me propose an elegant way to circumvent, so to speak, those rules. Rather than stating the obvious, calling them a scam (which they obviously are) in a short message with abnormally big letters, better ask a polite well-reasoned question; something like this:

Quote
Hello, serious questions have been raised about the legitimacy of your project. There are reports that your team has fake members/plagiarized whitepaper/whatever. Could you please be kind and address these issues here:...

This could very well serve as a warning to others yet not get deleted...I don't know just a thought.  Smiley
