Rebranding, like a name change in bitcoin? I think its not advisable to do. Bitcoin is known because of its name. Many will have to adjust and might be confuse about it. Also, a lot of advertising and publicity needed to do this to be able to make it through. Actually, this forum is also one of the fire starter of the bitcoins negative publicity. We cant stop this FUD because people have their own thoughts on bitcoins future and its up to you if you will agree with it or not.

You right, we can try to change the public mindset that has been doctrinated by the government by using television media, this media works very well but who will pay for advertisements on television? because bitcoin is not a centralization that is owned by someone, so no one will finance it. but we can help by giving education about bitcoin on youtube or blog and it's free right?

5. people become more comfortable that buying $65 gets them 10,000 units of something rather than 0.01 units of something
6. because it feels like a new era, people can still talk about the past. but have the feeling that its the past and not the present
7. then when 1bit=$1 the 'old schoolers' will see 1btc=$1m and the 'new school' sees the main common unit is only $1 so still cheap

In my personal opinion, I don't think bitcoin needs any rebranding. Bitcoin is already a big name and it has stood the test of time and triumphed over every form of attack. This is no mean feat, I am sure that the people circulating negative news about bitcoin know that they can't succeed.

something like that will always be there, and that is a natural thing. when a technology develops, there will be parties who support it, and there will be parties who want to drop it. and those who want to drop it, will definitely look for blemishes to be able to make bad news about the development of these technologies. this is one of them.

You cannot change the history of this technology. Things like Silkroad and Mt Gox will forever stay in people's minds, when they think about Bitcoin, because it is part of it's history. The thing that can be changed, is it's future. The positive things that we do now, will change it's future.

I think that is would be both a good and bad thing if bitcoin rebranded. It may bring in more people, if it was rebranded, but at what cost? Those that are involved already generally believe in it, so why rebrand? Is it needed?

So I am subscribed to quite a few crypto news and general news websites; and one thing that frustrates me to no end is to see such negative publicity of this currency!
And I know most of the people are of the opinion that bitcoin doesn't really need publicity! But I think a little rebranding is very much needed to put bitcoin in the good light.Try to focus on the good things of it, its qualities, maybe it will help it to stabilize or something?

I think re-branding is not a solution to make bitcoin be regarded positive by everyone, because generally a new name if it has the same function it will be the same. It would be better for us to be able to educate people about bitcoin correctly, a bitcoin function that is unlike most media that give a negative statement. Using bitcoin is not a necessity but sometimes someone needs an alternative payment that is simple without having to have a part, I think it will be easily accepted by many people. Compared to giving education about bitcoin with full confidence that bitcoin will replace fiat money, it will be seen as negative.

It might be too late to rebrand. After all, I think Bitcoin is currently holding its own in that department. Of course, there will always be naysayers out there, but it looks like more and more people gravitate towards crypto thanks to the positive feedback it's recently getting from big names and industry giants that are beginning to embrace crypto.

Seeing negative news is part of the cryptocurrency ,that should not be new to any one in cryptocurrency by now , but it clear to me that most of the news were used to manipulate the market in favour of those that baghold or what to get more bags of the coin , example is what happen to btc three days ago which brought about it sudden spark in price .

Re-branding is a bullshit idea. Bitcoin is based on the ideology of disrupting the current economy and not a multi-national company that you can change names when you fell like. Its not like some IT firm whose name changes everyday

People who speak bad about a new concept will always be there. You cannot stop them. Think of the all the big ideas that brought in revolutionary changes to this world, if the creators would have been swayed by their propaganda would they exist today? Same with crypto as well.

No-coiners and bearish people will be there to drag down those who are making money from bitcoin - its because they are jealous and they got FOMOed. Just let them suffer which we get rich.

Guys maybe I wasn't able to successfully articulate my idea. Rebranding is not only about the name changing since name is only the part of brand and not all of it. I meant to say that we can change the perspective of general audience in a way that it is more than an asset,that you buy and sell with price fluctuations and start treating it like a currency.
