After his post, we know that he is alive and following stuff. Wouldn't it be great if he remains anonymous but starts participating in the discussions again? It would be quite inspiring for a lot of people I believe.
Let's vote and show him the love, there is good chance he might see this.

I think him being out of the spotlight is a great thing. It helps keep the focus on the important thing, making BTC better. If a BTC Nakamoto came out in public then the focus would all be on him and I'm SURE the press would dig up some dirt on him, or why he did it, which would hurt Bitcoin.

Not just the press, but us as well - except not dirt, but hero-worship. You're absolutely right about focus: passing the buck to Satoshi shouldn't be an option, we need to take responsibility, and that - IMHO - is what decentralisation is all about.

Leave him alone, I say. My first feeling when I heard Satoshi had been unmasked (after the disbelief), was disappointment. I kind of like the mystery of it all. Think Heisenberg.
I'm sure Satoshi is still around, and involved. We don't need to know who he/she is.

I'd love to hear him speak and chat with him.
But for his sake I'd recommend not.
He'd be a lightning rod for government and other attacks, everything he ever did would be scrutinized.
I was talking with Andreas at Bitcoin Texas yesterday and he mentioned how his high Bitcoin profile has attracted all manner of crazy people. I won't get into details because I'll leave that to Andreas....but let's just say there are some serious drawbacks to being a "Bitcoin figurehead".
For Satoshi he would be 100 times more famous than Andreas....not to mention the small matter of 980,000 coins.
IF he did it he would have to be ultra prepared with security etc? and have a certain personality that can accept and deal with all the focus.
Not recommended.

My humble vision on bitcoin with a parallel with true believers.
What is the point in asking for the Messiah to come back if you do not believe in the codes, applying them to the way you conduct yourself everyday. What is the point if you are not willing to "paradigm shift" yourself, while asking everyone else to it for you. Satoshi came back to help this poor dude out. I want Satoshi to just do that from time to time. But that would be it.
Think about this: How can we trust and believe in a decentralized concept while adoring a centralized Avatar Deity? Get off your knees.

Actually the idea of him touching base when it's really really needed is quite inspiring one, yes I would prefer that I guess.
