I think that bitcoin should become the main currency of the world and be used in every country without exception. It is very convenient, and most importantly safe, and greatly simplifies international payments and transfers. So I'm two hands for the spread of crypto currency.

bitcoin can be a universal currency if all countries can accept bitcoin for payment transactions. the reason is that bitcoin does not have a distant value in each country. bitcoin is safer to make transfers. bitcoin is more transparent, and bitcoin is easier to use without limiting rules.

I agree.This will only become a universal currency if all countries agreed to legalized the use of bitcoin in different transactions.Fiat currencies are still the most in demand currency for now.But with mass adoption of bitcoin in the future,it might replace the position of fiat currency.

Replace fiat is not really good thing to happen. If bitcoin and fiat can adopted together will be very good, because out there some people still don't have access to bitcoin's technology.

This may be possible, but if we match this with today's paper money, we can see that it's not appropriate. Just think that all of the world's money is USD and there is no trade or anything. Money trading is the most money circulating place today and think that this is not in our economy.

Bitcoin can't be the universal currency. One reason is its recognition issue set by countries in the world. Some countries do not recognize bitcoin thinking that its decentralized technology will be a problem especially in monitoring and identifying illegal transactions. It's really hard to tell. Just like today that some say "bitcoin is the money of the criminal".

Another reason is its volatility that is also connected to being decentralized. We're having a hard time to determine if there's price manipulation or not. The anonymity of the transactions has been good and bad for bitcoin.

It seems this is a desire of many, but we need to try to be realistic about bitcoin, a transaction with bitcoin simply takes too long at the moment while a transaction with cash only takes a few seconds, cash does not need anything except the other party to accept the cash you are carrying but with bitcoin you need a lot more than that, you need to have a device capable of sending bitcoin transactions and the other party needs a way to accept those payments as well.

Even if bitcoin became extremely popular there will be many places where it will be impossible to pay with bitcoin and you will still need to use fiat, so unless someone finds a way around that we will still need other forms of payment.

It seems to me that bitcoin becoming the currency of the internet is a more achievable goal and one that we should consider on achieving first before trying to make bitcoin something that it is not, we know that the giant in online payments is paypal and bitcoin needs to surpass it so until payments with bitcoin are more common than payments with paypal then that means that bitcoin still has a long way to go, fortunately there is a lot of room for bitcoin to grow and we are not even close to the limit bitcoin can reach in the next years when it comes to transactions over the internet.
