Hi,

i browse through all binance charts every 2-3 days. on one screen i got the daily,  the 4h and 15-1h chart to check different time frames at the same time. it needs a seconds to check if the chart is interesting.

i then mark coins which seem strong or very weak. weak coins i skip often while going through charts. everything under 100btc daily volume iam not even looking at.
i also have some coins i always do check.

if i see points of interest iam setting up alarms to get notified if prices reaching a certain point or e.g. breaking a trendline.

while iam trading i'm looking at coins on binance , using the desktop app to check regular the short term charts of the top 15 mover and top 15 on volume. 

i also use a volume monitor to get alerts if coins move more than 2% or have a spike in volume. highly recommended! =>  https://crankykernel.com/binance/monitor

abit unlucky today with some positions. Aion went up 20% but got stopped out before and ARN was up even 45%.
But its alright. i dont mind taking close stops. want to limit my risk to the downside to a minimum. Aion i alrdy did hold more than a day and thats usually the time when i start to get impatient, increasing stop losses permantly.

Decided to make a results overview every end of the month.
i will start with november, combining Oct/Nov since i started 21st of October.

Goal is to finish every month in the green...

in retrospec i got to say iam not unhappy with how things were going. considering i got one very bad trade where i lost 0,13btc (BTC long got stopped out at 3448 - still in shock haha).

in fiat iam ofcourse also down since btc decided to lose 30%. i'm very dissapointed though that i couldnt profit at all from the dump since my short term bias was short.

now its at 50. Iam feeling abit stupid infact to not have sold all. yes ..plan is to sell around 60 the rest but over night i was pretty sure we couldnt go there. IT would have been much better to sell all and looking for re-entries.
here with a 10% drop i may do that actually.




thats what iam actually looking at in eos. since we got high momentum at the way down 4850 may be possible soon. the H4-chart still looks terrrible and like lower lows.
entering around 4850 with the plan to close at new lows might be a low risk setup. ) but we need to see signs of reversal. i will not just buy the level. (cought the knife yesterday alrdy)






if btc doesnt turn around and move up here it doesnt look so good for my long. it did hit 3.5k last night again which would have been a nice exit.

 as said  i couldnt post much due to family. I'm pretty disappointed by me fomoing the highs of some coins after checking btc around 3600. i basically bought in the middle of zones without a real plan and way too wide stops on the phone instead of letting it go. pure unprofessional fomo got me this time after 2-3 successful days with a way too strong bullish bias. although i did end up only slightly in the red, those trades can really bring you in trouble. - not proud of me there.

 

RVN stopped out at 397 for a loss of 5,2% or 0,023 btc
ZRX stopped out at 9273 for a loss of 2,3% or 0,009 btc
DNT i sold at an average of 443 for a profit of 9,8% or 0,05 btc

MITH got stoppped out pretty badly last night
Sold 30,6k MITH at 1830 for a loss of 6,15% or 0,037btc.

i didnt buy more like planed because i went to bed. instead i put a stop losl at 1869. it got hit and i lost my position with an extra of 2% slippage.
i didnt expect the 100% retracement. happy i did not add on but since i went to bed i should have reduced risk and sold 50%.
I dont like to lose more than 1% of my acc in such a trade.

not touching MITH ...i was sure with that high ammount of volume we wouldnt see a full retrace. some heavy sellers are still in there.

a happy new year to all of you.

as you may have realized i took the last 2 weeks more or less off.
it was a necessary battery recharge at the end of the year. family, job and crypto is demanding:).
on top of that i think during the holidays moves are even more random, i expect lower volume resulting  in an overall tougher market to trade in.

i would love to say everyday i did something with the kids but tbh alot of time after Xmas  went into just doing nothing - watching netflix which i normaly dont do. (Kids are fine with it anyway ...)

after beeing down 0.15btc in the first week i closed in the green for 0.36 btc. since start it is 0,916 btc.

BTC reversed on me and i bought the fake out. pretty much trade was instantly in the red.

i like the higher low after hitting resistance the first time at 1660 and thought we would push through resistance going to the zone of 1750-1800. didnt work out obv.




GVT starts to not look so good.
its important to turn here to the upside.
if we drop below 106 and stay there i will sell and book a nice loss due to my bad entry and unmanaged trade. happens if you want to force exposure during xmas/new year instead of letting it be. well deserved.
But maybe we turn here. overall we still got a bullish structure. iam just t0o impatient and definately dont want to hodl a potential drop below 100 again.

it is a good point you bring up there.

I decided when i started to accumulate as many btc as possible.
especially now the gains in $ are not giving me a good hourly but my plan is different. I'm having a n "ok" income and dont need the crypto money. so iam only doing it here to accumulate as many btc as possible hoping for another parabolic bull run in 2-4 years. that could be life changing money .

ofcourse if i would knew that btc drops further i could put $ aside to buy in with more btc. but i can also long TUSD for that.
unfortunately i missed the short on the way down and have to admit that i got suprised by the momentum of the drop. in my initial post i talked about that i think we will go to 3k but i didnt think it would go there so fast.
i set up every thing now to buy more btc if we drop below 3k for long time hodling. if i do so i will post it here too - opening a long term trade seeing how it goes.

but yeah ..due to the huge drop in value iam already experiencing a change in trading dynamic. usually i trade 4k$+ position but with regards of equivalent in BTC iam taking a too big of risk for my trading plan if i adjust the positionssize in BTC to the upside.
its weird to scalp 2% with a 0,5btc position for 35$. feels like not worth the effort. or monitoring 6 position with 1.5k $ value each ...

so maybe i will scalp more again with bigger positions sizes (relative to the account size). basically the trading style i had when i startet wqith 0,3 btc. but its tougher to post that since often it was an in and out within minutes. need to figure out how it will go. maybne i will just post the more swingy setups here. lets see.

first of all my opinion about btc.

short term (days / weeks): undecided - bearish tendency
mid termn (months): bearish
longterm (years): bullish

So since I'm trading and hodling btc meanwhile it wouldn't make much sense to do all that thinking btc will die.  So as already mentioned i try to accumulate as many btc as possible before the next bull run. I bought in when BTC was at 11900 $ and just try to outtrade the bear market.
However I believe that we have alot of consolidation ahead and I'm talking 12-18 months. Only when 95% of the traders have left the scene, not looking into their accounts because they dont want to feel the agony of being down 90%+ on most of their holdings - then the chances are good to see another cycle. Too many didnt deserve the huge gains they made and usualy the market takes it back.

While going down even more i think 3k is an area where i would even like to invest longterm and i will buy my kids 1 btc each on that price to hodl it for years.
Maybe we will see 8k or even 10k before going down further but i doubt we will go from here and never look back.
Additionally I think the whole cryptosphere is extremely shady and the recent bitfinex bitmex tether issues are making me puke - so yeah I'm also prepared to lose my btc's.

IF we really are at the low here I wouldn't mind either. Trading in a bull market is alot easier than in a bear market. Only my kids wouldnt have 1 btc .

so that was in october...basical short and mid term bearish was spot on ..but i couldn't capitalize on that.

i think we will see new lows and i plan to buy in then for long term. when we dropt to 3.15k i checked if i could purchase btc but it turned out that i got an issue with my coinbase acocunt which i used january 2018 first and last time. so i had to find another way which took 2 weeks to setup. but iam ready now. from 3k on i will try to buy in hoping for a panic drop well below 3k.

Went out of Dock for a loss of 0,002 btc - so basically break even. double topped.

ALso ADA made a nice spike to 1249again . since i had a stop loss in the system and wasn't at the PC i missed the exit again. It got a strong rejection again which is not good.
i hhad my stop loss at 1169 and at night it dropped even to 1178 again. i dont like that hindsight talk but selling 1240 and rentering at breakout level around 1180 would have been to optimal play.

i really screwed up there. those kind of trades must not happen. way to big loss for my trading style. just a very bad entry.

iam at -0,23 btc for the months now but 0,18 btc loss just coming from 2 out of 13 trades. thats why keeping losses small is so important. but i mean i already talked alot about the GVT trade

as it can be clearly seen- my current trading style is not working. basically retail breakout trading in a choppy market.
iam not worried though. it is important to recognize it. its time to cut down trade frequencies, trade less break outs more pullbacks, adjust size until positive trades coming in and trying to reset the mindset of trying to gain all back within few trades.

but yeah. the GVT trade was the biggest loss since starting here in October and also losing 0,23 btc is my biggest downswing so far of the last 10 weeks.

lets see how it goes - tomorrow work starts again so i wont have so much time. capital preservation is main goal now. unfortunately trading no matter what was the goal of the last days

thank you for the kind words but thats a clear overstatement .

yes i have a passion for trading. i just love watching charts and how patterns resolve, the price action *sigh ... but got a family and a job too and yeah it all needs to fit in one day.
i definately have alot of room to improve though. i'm still having retail trader mentality when it comes to entering trades .

but at one thing i guess iam unique...i didnt see someone posting like 10 losing trades in a row. usually everywhere else u see like 95% winning posts and hindsight entries.

i hope all that here shows you that losing is part of the game. managing those loses is the only thing u need to master to be successful. the top 1% of traders have an insane winrate aswell. iam clearly not one of them.

waves too much fomo entry. wanted to play the bounce from 7100-7200. entered 2% above plan. will wait and see what waves does now ...can move up too . target 7700-7900

Sold 1203 WAVES at 7192 for a loss of 2,2% or 0,019 btc.

bad entry ..too weak now. will target the 6300 range for a re entry.

I've watched all of your trades and when you wrote longs, I understood that they were what you bought and made profits. But when it comes to shorts, did you mean that you were doing them on leveraged exchanges like Bitmex? How did you manage to save yourself in such leveraged positions and get your positions closed for least losses?

Do you also look for the fundamentals of a coin you put your money into? Or do you just go technically and find opportunities in day trading alone? Anyways, nice profits and great portfolio, glad to see you were also in greens while everyone here was crying about the death of crypto.

had no time at all today due to work.

kept holding QKC so far becasue of the overall very friendly alt day. will watch QKC closely not to get out in time.

after break of the 950 we didnt go below. perfect entries i like.

I've watched all of your trades   => i got to thank for that makes me feel being controlled -pushing for trading better. exactly my egoistic reason why I'm doing that here


All my shorts are on bitmex. usually i wrote it aswell. maybe i forgot it sometimes. i always have a stop to protect myself and keep the shorts pretty close (if everything goes like planed)

a few times i also longed on bitmex mainly when i saw that ADA EOS BCH XRP is making a move on binance but bitmex didnt react so far.

but i only got like 10% of my trading money on bitmex.
a) i dont trust bitmex at all and dont feel safe
b) the risk of total loss due to market manipulation / high slippage/ typo (a zero too much in position size on cross marging can screw you)
c) i feel comfortable on binance

I also have to say that since i started on bitmex in sept i'm only break even on bitmex and make my profit on binance.

reason:
a) iam too impatient and usually get wicked out at tops before the major move happens instead of positioning my entries in the wick-areas
b) fees are also way higher when you market enter the trade)
c) iam a trader who loves to react on price action but on bitmex they freeze the system to rip ppl off

initial plan was to have some money on binance for shorting BTC in a big downmove like from 6k to 4k but i missed that trade completely. basically i wanted to short btc with leverage on bitmex to be still able to trade with my btc on binance


Since iam holding coins for maximum of few days i dont care at all about fundamentals. but on my way to work iam listeing to youtube videos everyday and also learn the latest developments about the latest coins. my trading is 100% technical though.
I love to scalp and not have to worry at all about fundamentals but maybe in the future if the markets come down to new lows i will buy some other coins for hodling more than a year (tax reason)

tried to go all out at 1000 but just couldnt sell. so ended up selling betwen 986 and 10000

SOLD 100k QKC at an average of 991 for a gain 4% or 0,04 btc

trades:
