Use cpuminer-opt. I don't think the other miner is optimized at all for Ryzen, it's very old.

I don't know. Maybe someone has set up a private pool; Maybe it's just a lot of processing power that joined because thread kept getting bumped today, or maybe there is a gpu miner that someone made. I can report that cpuminer-opt gets +-12MH/s on my 4-core processor, but until there is a pool I don't have a chance with it.

Probably because 7 blocks were found in 15 minutes.

Edit: My point is, it could be a coincidence, but considering it has been 29 minutes since the last block, I am thinking it was just bad luck.

I'll get on that once I fix my dependencies after cross-compiling a windows wallet for you. It's a separate science, you know.

I managed to dig up a standalone miner for sha256q algo.

I found it here: https://github.com/bitbaba/bitgold following the link to pre-built miner

It works on testnet with the following params:
Code:
minerd.exe -a sha256q -o http://127.0.0.1 -u "my username" -p "my password" -q --no-gbt

Of course with a pyrite.conf file set up accordingly.

Am currently running it on two machines on mainnet. Will report back if I hit anything

Interesting. I didn't even know that someone's done Q before. Did you find anything with it? I added my fork of cpuminer-opt to GitHub.

I was going to set up a pool, but I don't have time to maintain it. I had yiimp running briefly today, but it took so much effort that I am not looking forward to being on standby in case something goes wrong with it. I'd rather focus on the coin itself. Maybe someone else will set one up on their existing platform?!

I don't know anything about that other coin. i simply googled sha256q.

Now I can confirm that this minerd that I am testing has hit me one block of pyrite.

I take it that whatever you are using is actually better/faster since this one is really old.

I can try and speak to someone about making a pool but I need to know if you think this will be only cpu or eventually also gpu mineable? Different target audience Smiley

Oh I see. I think a GPU miner is coming. Wouldn't qualify this coin as CPU only even at this point. Maybe there is one in the wild for that other coin?! I can look at making one for nvidia.

As mentioned before. It was never declared as a cpu-only coin. Mining started in-wallet, then cpu miner, next progression is gpu...then maybe even fpga, who knows.

Yes, thanks for the pool. I will work on a gpu miner, since I gather that whoever made one isn't willing to share...
