Hey guys,

I'd like to start a discussion about the different types of sportsbooks. From my current research it looks that there are 3 the most popular:
1) regular betting sportsbooks (betting against the operator, fixed odds)
2) exchange betting sportsbooks (betting against other people, fixed odds)
3) mutual betting sportsbooks (betting against other people,  non-fixed odds)

Have you tried different types of sportsbooks? Do you have your favourites? What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

well i have tried the normal one and the mutual one
i dont like the changing odds in the mutual betting, some big bettor can come along and destroy the odds with just one bet
the normal betting againts the provider is the best imho

SCAM ALERT: The Rock Trading Exchange (www.therocktrading.com): Deceives bitcoiners to create unverified accounts, blocks the withdrawals covertly in order to let the user keep depositing money and uses every pretext to keep it blocked "forever".

You can always wait and place a bet in the last minute, so that even if somebody bets a lot of money the odds won't change too much. I usually wait to see how the odds are changing before the match. There can be some leaks or news that influence the betts, so it's always safer to wait and see if it's still worth it. That's why I rarely choose fixed odds. These are best if you want to bet early on and secure the odds. In other words when you like what you see and believe it could change for the worse once people rush in.

Just a matter of preference though yet ive been doing both things depending on the situation or the game eyeing on.If you do prefer on changing odds then last minute bet will be ideal as being said
im also keen on hearing out possible news or updates on such play where you can really make advantage. Playing on fix odds on normal betting is also fine for me.

I've dabbled in a wee bit of "arbitrage", usually betting on regular bookie and then checking those mutual odds to see if anything spikes closer to the game or even during. Doesn't net very much in my experience as the limits are usually low (at least on 1hash as I recently tried).

Haven't been very lucky to hit the big ones but 1 or 2% bets worth about BTC 0.001 or so in profit always gets you a small sense of satisfaction. Not worth the trouble... In the end if you're regularly betting you tend to stick to bookies you know settle quickly and pay out fast.

1) regular betting sportsbooks (betting against the operator, fixed odds)

Im a kind of sportsbettor that preferred this way most.

Why? This kind of betting is the one I used to deal with since I entered the world of gambling even prior to the popularity of crypto gambling.

Sometimes too much waiting for a preferred odds leads into closure of the said bet so Im securing it early or will just execute another bet just to take advantage once I saw a good change. Just needs some extra bucks though.

I go for both normal bookies and exchanges , there is no big difference since most of the times the odds are relatively close between them ( at least with asianbookies and betfair ) but it worth to have access for both of them so you can shop for the best odds and you can always set your own odds with the exchange and wait for it to be matched

mutual betting isn't for me since I stick to certain odds and I can't really wait for the other players to decide what my odds would be so it's not for me , and to be honest I find it suits the fun gamblers more than the gamblers that are actually looking to profit

Sports betting is a 'game' of small edges.  A serious gambler who does this professionally should always get the best odds available and squeeze as much value as possible imo.

But if you wanna do this for fun, whatever.  Just use a bookie that's convenient for deposits and withdrawals.

Personally I try to find the best odds with reputable site and I'm ever found it on directbet , 4 years ago.

Of course it's require some time to find it especially when crypto gambling is new things in this digital era.
Just remember that the risk on crypto gambling also greater so personally I prefer live gambling in Vegas

Fixed odds will always move eventually if alot of people bet a certain way, otherwise the operator might struggle to hedge the outcomes of the game.   I believe there is more of a premium for this in the odds to account for this risk.
I think the most realistic and reflective then is the third option where the odds move about and you get some feedback about how confident the crowd is about a win occurring and also bargains can occur in this situation.   It only requires a large population of bettors to be taking part so the odds are stable enough to handle larger bets

Playing for a long time and trying what you mentioned But I prefer the first choice, between 2 and 3 I don't like it well it makes me greedy and emotional without the calculation that must be done when starting gambling It's hard for me.well Sometimes to fill my time playing it,just isn't as often I play on regular.

leaves little room for cheating !?  Huh I don't get it , how is there a chance for cheating when you are betting on the exchange against other people where you can take or leave the odds ?
actually I would rather pick the exchange when they have the same odds with other bookies , with exchanges you are guaranteed 100% to get paid but sportsbooks sometimes play dirty games when it's about paying out a winner punter

I typically bet with option one, betting against the operator with fixed odds. I don't like waiting for the odds to be good for my chosen team, and in I usually see odds swing drastically in mutual betting, which is a big reason why I don't like mutual betting- the uncertainty on top of the risk of betting already makes it a not-so-pleasant experience for me. I've never had a good experience with mutual betting, though I haven't bet a lot mutually in the past.

I have contact with bookies on phone while playing gambling on spots, and I do not need to visit there, but I am playing cards then I usually visit our informal casino where our friend collected and play gambling on cards and dice.
