well you need rank because 99% of the bounties doesnt want newbie accounts

If you join just for the bounties, it’s your decision. You will likely start doing social reports on the bounty threads, and that sometimes leads to breaking the rules of the forum.

You then will likely be interested in wearing a signature for a certain campaign that will require you to make no less that 20 posts per week on specific sections, only to realize that you need to be a Jr. Member (but for a few exceptions). You will then see that raising your activity is not enough, but that you also require to earn at least 1 merit. That will lead you to posting like mad to see if you get one. Since it is not trivial to get (I didn’t say difficult), you will then start asking why you didn’t get any merits and so on.

During all this process, posting quick non-sensical one-liners could deem the account as non-contributive through any post, and thus could lead to it being nuked or banned. You may even be tempted to copy/[spin]/paste in order to try to get some merits, which leads to a ban penalty.

The other way to focus things is to try to become a hybrid at least. That is, do your socials if you wish, but also try to post meaningful content in your posts to avoid being banned for becoming a spammer. It requires more time, but should end up being a safer path, if banning is of concern to you.

Start-off by becoming familiar with the rules in any case: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ.

I did add the link (click on the following text in blue): Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ.

I would also suggest you read quite a bit on the forum before posting and even joining socials on a campaign. Try to read on other people’s experiences in order to avoid the pitfalls.
Not to scare you off, it is also interesting to see this statistic on banned accounts in the last month alone:

Code:

6704 permanent bans (including nukes):
     4228 Newbie
1244 Brand new (nukes I'm assuming)
      460 Member
      328 Jr. Member
      276 Full Member
       99 Sr. Member
       40 Hero Member
       22 Copper Member
        7 Legendary

87222 merits destroyed:
13 merits per ban on average
      251 single-merit users banned

@DdmrDdmr, stop explaining everything to this spambies. He/she blatantly admitted that the OP wanted to join bounty and make this community a source of income. He/she wouldn't understand or even try to be a "hybrid", so you're just wasting your precious time trying make things clear.

Highly likely, a waste of time as you say, but this is the Beginners & Help section, so the idea is to try to give them a shift in the right direction. If not the OP, then perhaps someone else will reconsider their focus here going through threads like these. Probably will end-up enlarging @suchmoon’s stat though…

In as much as its solely your decision to make to what ever reason you joined this forum for. So I would  not condemn you But it's will still me unfair and inhuman not to render some advise.

I will take this my reply in two part
1. Give your means of earning without rank
2. Give your reason why you need to have a change of heart

1. How to earn without rank... Although the are extremely few projects that's does accept newbies. Higher number of those few projects are not worth the stress.  So there are some projects that's allows newbies who has the copper membership. So you can probably pay for the forums copper membership and be able to wear a signature. Also you might just stick to other campaign in a project for example articles and content or better still social media campaign this those not need you to have any rank.

2. reasons why you should have a change of heart.
Have you asked yourself, can i earn from doing what I love and doing it well?  the answers is yes in fact that's when you will earn immensely take for examples other professionals they get paid by how good you are at what you do,  and you can't be good at something you do love doing. You probably must have gotten the wrong perception of the forum from wrong advice or what ever way. ranking up here on bitcointalk is not such an enormous task as most people think all you need to is make up your mind. Have a goal and work towards it. Try as much as possible not to me obsessed about earning am not saying you should not earn but don't make it a priority here(here is not a trading exchange) and you might turn the forum into a spam pool. Acquire skills and knowledge. Just be simple and genuinely stick to forum rules. And you might just be earning at a high rank.

Good luck

No. Why yout account will be locked as it does not have any relation to bounty. If you meet bounty requirements then you can apply or else no...

probably who opened the thread has no intention to do more than bounty, but the explanation is useful to me,

your account won't be locked just because you're joining some bounty campaigns
but I encourage you to read, learn, post your (original) opinion and join the discussion
broken english is still tolerable but plagiarism (copy-paste) will get you banned in no time

Yep, and why would you not want higher rank? It won't hurt you, it just needs better understanding of what you are doing here and how.
Nothing complicated, just be helpful and learn a lot Smiley

Because majority did not read the rules Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ.

Plagiarism (Copy/Paste) is leading reason of user getting banned.
Community frown on seeing bounty reports but you did not get banned if you don't break rules.

I am alive
