Just simple math: if you are signaled late to pump, you will buy the coin more expensive than most. If you are signaled late (or at all) about the dump, you may end up selling at lower price than you have bought.
And this can happen if they are honest. If they are not, they'll signal you to buy at the end of the pump and that's all.

Hahahahaha he most definitely did. P & D groups should never appeal to any one except you got money to throw away. Very few, I mean very few of such groups are genuine, 99% are definitely scam. They move you buy at the top and they sell at huge profits

Already in any pump group possibility of gain depends on your chance. You should be able to trust people you don't know and risk money and you are in doubt whether you can make a profit. In fact one of the ways you can gain earnings for the present situation is pump groups, but it is hard to find trustable one. Also never be fooled by the fact that the group has a lot of member.

It doesn't matter how many members are in the group. Those numbers can be easily manipulated, and there's no guarantee anyone will be buying into the pump. It's possible to make money with these groups if you get out quick enough, but the odds are slated against you. The vast majority of people will lose money.

By the time the "signal" comes to people like you, it means the people operating the group are ready to sell.

And the only one benefiting is the admin or those who are part of the upper "echelons". Well its good if your friend is making a good money, but he paid to be a member though? Well the more the merrier but those who are in the latter group will just get few profits unless new members gets it because it works like sort of pyramiding. And chances are if you are sleeping during their dump then I'm sure you will be at the losing end so just be cautious.

You can try their signal by small amount first and then if that work you can continue to follow other next signal. I was follow some telegram channel that give free signal and about 70% their signal accurate. That signal can help for trader who does not have many times for trading.

The good thing is you already have an idea about those kind of group.

You can do something about it.
Used them for your own good. Do not sign up for anything thhay has payment. Just be there looking for tips that might help into what token you are trading.

But I bet they wont share anything like that unless you pay.
Lastly, do not just believe in everything they say.

Look, if the owner bought some coins then put's it on his channel as a signal of pump, do you think he could gain an easy 30% from those 100k members? If yes then try to avoid it, leave the group, it's no good, it just causes FOMO.

You can be lucky if you joined a P and D group if you are early enough to buy at the right time before it goes up. The only beneficiary for that kind of group is the owner that bought first.

The only people who profit are the owner and his one or two close friends who have filled their bags over the preceding weeks with whatever low volume, easily manipulated, trash coin they picked. Everyone else in the group, regardless of whether it is paid or free, is only there to let this small handful of owners unload their trash coins at a higher price.

You can't sell a coin high unless people are buying high. When you buy high, and the owners sell their bags, the price dumps, and you are left selling low or bag holding. You will be burned, and you will lose your money.

In reality alot of price action of crypto based on pump dump, and to avoid loss by chooce coin that have high trading volume because usually crypto that has high trading volume the duration will longer when pump and dump, dont join any pump dump group that pump the coin by a few minute and then dump so fast.

Pump and dump is something you never want to be a part of and in this case, you are just going to end up setting yourself in fire before you even realize it. Most people who are calling the shots for P&D are the ones getting the best from it, and if you are the type that ends up picking the market from the top and you get dumped on, you will just be stuck waiting for another pump at the end of it all. Always be careful to know that if you want to trade, get knowledge and stop looking for shortcuts as that will always get you into some deep shit and make you lose most of your funds.

I do not know which group you are talking about but the main problem with pump and dumps is that people do not tell you which coin to buy before they buy it themselves. Say they get in at 19 satoshi and make it 20 than they tell you to buy it and wait until 25 to sell and you buy it everyone else too and they get out at 24 making it 23 and than people see the price is falling and they start selling too and it never reaches 25.

The problem with pump and dump groups is that no one really trusts each other, since no one trusts each other there is no way to make it on time if you play it right. However, there was a telegram group with a bot and which coin will be pumped was decided according to the last digits of litecoin block that is mined at exactly same time everyday. That way no one knew which could will be pumped before anyone else and everyone learnt which coin will be at the same time, still had trouble not selling but at least buying was decentralized that way, that could work.

A way to advertise their shitty P&D group, isn't it? Unfortunately, you just spoil the fun for them, if this was indeed their plan all along. Something people should even start understanding now is that pump and dump groups is something some scammers are basically just using to profit off some gullible people who are trying to look for the easy way out in trading.

Only if they just get to realize that there is absolutely no easy way out at all to anything and all they just have to do is to find a way to learn if they want to trade, or just hold. P&D has made people to lose money and people who think it is a thing for them, will always have themselves to blame at the end.

At this stage, I thought a lot of people by now would have been able to understand that pump and dump group is never the best way to go with all the things that have been mentioned online and in this forum. Whether you like it or not, as long as you are not the owner of the group which is very unethical and some exchanges are beginning to frown at it, I would say it is not even something anyone should be trying to do at all. You have always heard they are scam, so you better stick with that opinion because no matter the members these groups have, if you get in late, you are screwed.

If you can or know how to get benefit from PnD grup it is ok, but if you can't you will stuck in coin that they already pumped. Don't take any big risk especially if you should pay for it, if your friend already get signal from a group, it means he already know what should he do.

If you want to join any pump and dump signal,  make sure you use exchange that has stop loss feature so you can avoid loss when the price dump.  There are alot of pump n dump group and some of them possible to pump coin more than 100% in a few days,  and they will buy low volume coin.  That trading is more risky so you should be have risk management by use stop loss.
