2018 the year of correction?

I can say even more, the next year may be bad. In my opinion, by the end of next summer, this correction will continue and possibly until the end of the year of the last year we will see a slight increase. Again, this is just my opinion.

COrrection of prices passed already as we have experienced the stable value of market this past 2months but you are right about the correction happen this year from the bull run of 2018
But until today i know that we are already bottoming as the December is coming and for sure many investors will re enter again and may put their money to profit some bucks

I've been around here for a while and the current scenario reminds me of what happened during 2014. We had hit the ATH in 2013, and after that there was a sharp correction lasting for almost 3 years. I am afraid that the scenario is repeating.

Yes, it is, but don't be afraid, my friend. We are living in times when all the processes are accelerating with unprecedented pace. What took 3 years back then, can take 3 months today. There are much more people monitoring the world of crypto today than ever before. And they are not only monitoring it but they are acting accordingly. When the Hashwar between ABC and SV ends and Bitcoin starts rising in price, who knows how many people will start buying as much as they can "while the price is still low", and who knows to which extent that FOMO buying will affect the market?

Almost the whole year of 2018 became really a bearish season, were most of the members of this forum became impatience for what happened. and others loss a big amount of capital where panic was being applied to most people who are not totally deep in crypto either. But even we faced a lot of things which are most bad experienced in crypto especially in different form of the ico project campaign arise up most of it are scam project. However, base on my analysis 2019 is our time for crypto period of harvest in terms of profit.

It really seems so and I wouldn't call current prices for crypto as bad ones. It just looks like you do not know what to compare it with! Few years ago bitcoin costed 100-200$ and today's 6+k$ can be admitted as a very good level for such formless project as bitcoin.

Probably this is the year of correction but mind you that bitcoin and other cryptocurrency would also had a great chance to have a good market price turn back. I do not see the system will not going to survive especially that money has gone through the system and many loving to have cryptocurrency.

How can a correction period last for so long? As I see, the market needs the stability (at least most people want it), but the bulls are still fighting with the bears, and it must come to its end soon.

Since bitcoin goes up so high in 2017, it is not suprizing to see a correction in 2018. But the thing we have experienced in this year can not be named as correction. We have experieced speculations and manipulations in this year. If we saw some progress in adoption of bitcoin, it could have been only correction and prices start to go up after this correction.

Most of those coins do not last long in the market anyway, the real problem is that after those coins disappear there is a new coin ready to take its place and that happens because investors do not learn their lesson, they invest in useless project after useless project losing money in the process thinking that this time is going to be different when we know that it isn't.

Yes, in my opinion, we will experience an entire year of correction after the 2017 bull run. Probably 2019 will be a better year

I think its obvious that 2018 is not good year for cryptocurrency. 2017 is best year for cryptocurrency so far and its true that 2018 is correction year. Hopely next year is good year for cryptocurrency and the price bouncing up

I am not of the opinion that the current phase of correction will last only one year. Look back and see what happened after 2013. There was a continuous three-year correction phase from 2014 to 2016. I am afraid that this can happen once more.

Judging by how the market had feared this year its very obvious that its has been very bearish and probably a year of correction as rightly said by the OP however how long this correction is going to last? is a  question begging for an answer because bitcoin had so far defies many predictions and speculation this year.

Well, the price rally took place in the last quarter of the last year was the result of the involvement of the big whales and institutional investors. However, the price could not recover at the rate at which we were expecting and hence price never reached high levels in the rest of 2018. However, I believe that the year 2019 would be the path-breaking year and we should expect the growth in this year which would shape the next decade. After all, we must realize the fact that crypto sector is still in the basic phase of development and we have a long way to go.

Does not seems that you will have to wait for 2019 end. It could be well before itself where the rise will happen and may be in Dec this year itself we can see some bounce back to happen. So it seems you being probably not invested in this dropped market infact it is the time to make purchases with lower value and hold it for some months.

Now when we are aproaching the end of the year we can indeed say that this year was the year of correction. Although after last year everyone expected bullish trend to continue and Bitcoin goes higher than ever just the opposite happened. There were no biger fluctuations all over the year but I think there were no biger injections on the market from big investors and whales.
I expect for 2019 to bring some positive movements but still I don't expect to see too much pumps. Let's get pleasntly surprised.

We are still in the early stage of development and adoption, that's true, but the "long way" may be much shorter than it seems at the moment. One of the first steps in the direction of higher adoption, imo, is realizing that the word "correction" shouldn't be used when talking about processes like those which were happening during this year. "Correction" implies the rectification of errors, but we can't really say that the $20k price for 1 BTC was an error. The same word was used a lot during the 2014-2015 decline from $1,200 to $200, but can we say now that $1,200 for 1 BTC was the wrong price? I propose to use the word "correction" when the price is rising rather than otherwise.
