In my opinion I believed 2018 to be the year of ethereum, as well to experience good growth with majority of the altcoins. To the expectation everything happened in the opposite manner. 2018 not the year of correction, but it was truly the year where people understood the true nature of cryptocurrency.

ETH high in 2018 was 1398 usd while its low was 86 usd, there was a major dump here.

It is not just correction, what we experience is a massive correction. People were much into speculation about the price of bitcoin reaching $25000 and so on, by that time the price began to fall and this too is believed to be a fluctuation and when it didn't showed any possible recovery users understood the reality. That was suppose to be their learning point, but some who did not learn while they stay surely panic and sold their investment at a lower price.
But this year since they've seen crypto recovers, I'm expecting they will come back strong this time and in case price will dump, I think they will not anymore panic easily as they have proven investing in crypto is profitable as long as you are willing to hold.

2018 is the year of disaster for the community in crypto industry.  Why? out of 95% I think of the ico that arise was all ended up into scam project, only few of the ico became good to give the bounty distribution of the token to their participants.
