as a OP of DeepOnion ru ann thread i wanna inform about a such type of attacks when: attacker creates multiply bct accounts and starts posting flood simultaniosly from all of 'em.

well, what can i say about this button "Report to moderador" – ain't gonna help – mods can't handle everything & everytime (they're just human).

believe me, i know what i'm telling about. here is a little time span example:

suggesting the solution:

restriction for posting from newbies accounts (fresh time creation – needs to be adjustable) + deny posting from specified accounts list (add the options to every moderated thread) – after such precautions attacker won't be able to continue his actions.

if this is unattainable with the help of only the forum functionality, it's possible to use automation tools, though is much more difficult for an unskilled users.

upd.

he's using several accounts and quite dedicated to create more.

So maybe post all this Accounts you know from him here in a list so we can try to get on them or a global mod can handle it !

ok, let's assume this is done. what may happen next – the attacker creates a bunch of newbies and starts posting again.

i'm suggesting a global solution wich is gonna lead to spam/flood reducing and facilitating mods duties.

p.s. the local ru bct mods only watching from the side (despite repeated complaints): they painted the trust of few accounts but the show was going on until we locked the old ann ru thread. for example just take a look at p. 755 of the old ru ann thread – there are 6 hard flood posts and 4 of them are with a harsh curse (they are still non-deleted at the current post time):

I'd say require at least 1 Merit to post in the altcoin section.
Paid bumping services have evolved after recent changes to deal with them. They went from 35 accounts per thread to about 500. It has completely broken the altcoin board.

Spammers create thousands of accounts at a time now.

90% paid bump/bot would reduce if this got implemented. Most of the ANN threads are bumped daily more than hundreds of time either through some users manually or with some bots. If 1 merit would required, the rate will significatly drop because most of the bots account get banned often.
Well, it would be more easy to say only Jr Member can post on altcoins thread. Newbies should be restricted, at least for avoiding the shady bump.

I warned about this some time ago that it will be possible to use bots to discredit the good projects.
There's a lot of room to make shit with those bots.

I think there is no perfect solution for your problem for now as even if you could report most of them they can just create more bunch of them with just some codes and clicks.
Even if the mods or admins permanently banned the IPs, it's pretty much easy for them to switch to a new one and again continue their work of shilling the threads. For now, we could just hope that there would be some restrictions for newbies to post in some threads as even if we have banned them from ranking up still they can comment in any thread and build up any type of scams to earn attention.

My suggestion to the admins would be limiting the thread bump to at least a jr.member level account ( Thread will move up word in the list only if a jr.member and higher rank comments on it). I think this is the best solution to solve this problem of irritating BOTs.

good idea but for example maybe it’s possible to add some allowed date registration range, i. e. allow posting for newbies that are registered no less than week/month ago.

Yes, too have a good point but still it would make the process more complex and also some multi account spams have older accounts which they can use for spamming. So I think just making it unbumpable ( selfmade word Smiley) for any type of newbie will be the perfect remedie for this.

well, some light was shed on the problem. but i can't get just one thing – why local ru mods didn't ban this very active flooder (i. e. all his accounts)? there is plenty of evidence but a complete lack of action.

I'd say require at least 1 Merit to post in the altcoin section.
Paid bumping services have evolved after recent changes to deal with them. They went from 35 accounts per thread to about 500. It has completely broken the altcoin board.

Spammers create thousands of accounts at a time now.

That'll make for spam on the bitcoin section.
If a user makes 200 alts and has 200 airdropped smerit then they could have 200 bots ready to go and then the bot spamming business becomes qujite a prevmium one with high prices for bot spamming...

Can we not just get managers to click "additional options" >"self-moderated topic"?

no, for example the described attacker (due to his mental peculiarities) can (and he does it hard and regularly, simultaneously laughing at us as it given above) continuously make posts in threads, so the solution must be more than just enabling moderated option.

That doesn't help against bump bots. Typically, a bump bot bumps a thread at least every few minutes, and it can be much faster. Even a very active moderator can't delete everything fast enough, and if it's not deleted within a few minutes, the bump spam has already served it's purpose.

because that was not flood

idk what's going on with the ru mods, but 7 consecutive posts (as it's shown in the OP) with baseless insults and threats are definitely a flood.
