Work is happening behind the scenes to those inquiring about empty Github. Development takes places on a private repo until it is ready to be released.

We will be going with our own algo instead of ProgPow, this algo is named "GhostRider" and is a combination of x16r and CNv1-8.

Additionally weekly updates are now being published on our blog, here is the first one: https://medium.com/@kawwwoin/raptoreum-the-beginning-weekly-update-one-72a4dae420d5

A new algorithm is a definite way to get a lot of attention in your project now a days, especially in an era of FPGA cards really swinging their weight around.

This is goign to be monstrous perversion on a glorious scale  Grin

Great, is this algorithm already coded or is this still to come? Do you know or expect the first mining software to be AMD or Nvidia focused?

We are still hashing out just how it will be put together, I would think actual development will start once holidays are done. I would like to equally offer for both AMD and Nvidia, but really that will be dependent on who picks up the miner development and or adds to their existing miner.

Any idea on what would keep this fpga resistant other than the need to develop a new bistreams to accommodate the algorithm?

The newest CN has some elements that really help slow down FPGAS, part of what is being looked at is incorporating those elements across the whole combination. Not to block them completely but slow them down to GPU levels at which point they become uninterested given the high purchase cost of decent FPGA units. Plus adding in the whole range of variants you will end up having to daisy chain larger numbers of medium priced boards to get it to work.
Is it a perfect solution? No, but will it work significantly better than anything out of the box at the moment? Yes  Grin

Sounds good but it seems like the perfect Target for GPU acceleration, the GPU would handle those elements and the fpga would handle the parts it is more efficient at. That's the plan for most algorithms when SQRLS miner launches for their acorns.

If they launch and if they can actually deliver something working. From the way they have been handling things to date, I'll want to see it before I believe it. Then again I'm not against hybridization of the mining sphere as that would be actual evolution and innovation rather than futzing around with tech that can be forked away from.

Furthermore, the way they've set up their marketing of ProgPOW as "asic" resistant then getting ready to FPGA rape it is pretty disgusting. Kekack800 does not implement significantly differently from regular kekack on an FPGA. Discounting the amount of skilled/semiskilled people looking at things is the ultimate exercise of stupidity.

Also how is a ded company supposed to be releasing miners?

I think you're treating mineority and SQRL as the same company, Mineority folded but was in partnership with SQRL. SQRL did happen to go ahead and continue to host those who paid for hosting from Mineority out of their cost, SQRL is the one releasing products and software. Mineority is/was ran by ohgodagirl and she seems to be quite the pain to deal with from what I understand.

From my POV it would be an interesting innovation. However I think they won't materialize till way later down the line if at all. They have enough issues dealing with getting bitstreams out for their overpriced boards. So I'd expect them to focus on that first acorns somewhere way down the list.

We will be doing some trivia and other contest over the holidays, winners will receive one Asset names RAPTOREUMIOU. Each one of these is worth 1000 RTM (Raptoreum) and will be paid out after mainnet launch.

You must have a Ravencoin wallet in order to receive the asset which is listed here: https://ravencoin.asset-explorer.net/a/RAPTOREUMIOU

This activity serves a few functions:

1.) Fun Cheesy
2.) Introduce people to the asset system as it will function the same way on Raptoreum
3.) Bank some RTM before mainnet launches Wink

This is happening only on Discord and is at random over the next 10 days > https://discord.gg/2T8xG7e

Good luck and have fun!
