I've mixed up sell and buy with goxsh, but that was during intense spikes, so you can't lose as long as you do the opposite a few seconds later.

On a semi-related note. Howcome the price sometime jumps without a big purchase or sell. I just watched it go from 3.25 up to 3.4 with a purchase of around 1 BTC that did not clear the sell orders below 3.4 Sounds kind of dodgy doesn't it? Either somehow someone bought at a price they shouldn't have been able to or the price reporting glitched, or for a second every sell order below 3.4 was retracted and then reinstated a second later.

It has happened about 3 more times in the last 20 minutes. Strangely some price charts seem to have removed the anomalies but some haven't. The result is that if you look at any averaged price that includes these spikes that didn't actually occur it looks like the price is skyrocketing when it isn't.

It sure is comforting that Mt. Gox still can't execute orders properly. Sorting numbers have been considered a solved problem for, well, quite a while.

I don't like the way the Gox interface blocks certain keystrokes in the price field. It's irritating and it's not the way input validation should be done in this case.

I posted elsewhere, but I've put in the wrong amount at least three times over the last month. The latest was today about 70 minutes ago, where I meant to put in a sell order at $3.229 and accidentally put it as a buy. Ugh. So I bought up 37BTC or so and am now hoping the price goes back up to the $3.30 mark today so I can turn a profit. Let's hope I didn't just buy 37BTC right before another crash down to the $2 range.

People like you are what makes Tradehill a great place to accumulate BTC. I've gotten many orders in at well below 'spot' price. Unhappily, most of these are currently underwater anyway. This 'problem' was significant enough some months ago to where I started to write a very primitive bot to capitalize on it. But both the phenomenon and my interest dried up before I did anything substantive. The phenomenon seems to have re-emerged recently, but not my interest.

The solution is simple. When you enter a price that is +/-10% from the last price, the exchange should ask you: your price is XX% above/below current price. Are you sure... Thats how trading platforms work.

.. it is kind of annoying, that in Europe, you normally write a sum like this: 3324234 ,34 while in the US or the english speaking rest of the world you write like this: 333423 .34 between . and , makes a huge difference: when i e.g. make a sell order for 3 btc at 3,9$ mt.gox and bitcoinica both just understand: SELL 3 BTC at 3.0$ the 0,9 is just ommited -_- still happens to me sometime, cause you are common to use , instead of . here..

I nearly did once. I tried to buy 100 BTC but misunderstood the order form on the site and ended up offering 100-fold what I wanted to! Fortunately, the site owner was able to reverse the mistaken trade for me. Dumb but lucky!

Another nice one a few minutes ago. Since I got bored and tired of waiting for the bears to come through and re-set some of my bids, I got some more coin at like 10% under Mt. Gox prices or some such. Thanks, however you are (especially if we end up not seeing another plunge.)

Not a long ago i mixed up "buy" and "sell" column due to 6 beer bottles )) Something about 500 BTC. I even pressed the button, then i understood what i just did... But either MtGox or my internet connection has stuck and this request has not reached MtGox. I refreshed page in some time and found my funds on their place. After that I sweared do not even login to MtGox when I drunked )

I had a typo in my donation address. Someone sent me a tiny donation and since my address was not valid, it went to parts unknown.
