I advise abstaining from any ICO whose team's profile is anonymous. Each ICO team need to show who they are an what they have achieved to warrant trust from the investors if this is not there, don't risk your cash.

I think that those times when the market invested in everything, including beautiful pictures, I think that that time has passed, so I just don’t believe projects that don’t show their faces, I just pass by.

Even coins with anonymous dev ends up been scam this days not to talk of ICO /tokens ,the most easier way out for scammers is using erc20 blockchain which has become haven for scamy projects ,any coins or project with anonymous dev I will never invest a dime in it

Yes, maybe, now if the ICO is not clear about the information then we should not join, because the electronic money is nobody is taking responsibility for us, so they constantly cheat us for Any suspicion should not be invested

I thought hiding sometimes is a great way to prevent yourself get exposed online but in this field hiding your identity when a person is dealing with a money we can really say that it's not a legit ICO team. And I think to get more investors in the project that you want to launch you need to show your identity to show to people that your aiming for a successful project not to scam other people.

In most cases, this is really a scam project, because it can be distinguished from experience, which today is still there and I have a lot of experience on these scammers. On the one hand, this is good, but how many times have I been deceived is another question.

Nobody can guarantee that an ICO is scam or not. But if the team do not want to show them, it is pretty strange. The story with creation of Bitcoin was great for 2008, but I do not know if people would invest in a project without any information about the team members.

Yes, as for me if a team of a project is anonymous the project is scam. For crying out loud, they are not Satoshi and if they are proud of their project why hiding their identity. Expose yourself for you to build trusts around the project.

This is a scam - if the ICO team is anonymous. You should not invest in ICO, which has an anonymous team. There is no reason to hide team members behind the project. A team member is a vital project evaluation criterion; many investors invest on the basis of a team member. When I look for a new ICO for work, I look at the team - this is the first thing I pay attention to.

Personally, I do not agree with this statement. After all, there are various examples of projects that worked with an anonymous team, but were able to achieve the planned success. And some projects with an open and real team were faced with a frank failure or were fraud - after they received the money they disappeared.

Of course, you can’t learn anything about developers at all. Even the creators of anonymous cryptocurrency have links to github or Twitter. In general, remember if there is no whitepaper or information about the team, this should be red flags for you.

If an ICO team is anonymous you have no way of verifying anything about them. It does not guarantee they are a scam but you also have no way to prove they are legit.  You are basically taking a chance and hoping they actually do what they say they will do, with no recourse of any kind if they don't. Personally I would be very reluctant to participate.

i would stay away from an ico without a public team. yes, satoshi was anonymous too, but he never ask in advance for money. that is a different.
The fact is that there are projects that have a basic principle laid down in anonymity. If the team creates a completely anonymous wallet do you think it makes sense to disclose information about yourself?I agree very risky to invest in such projects, but at the same time I agree with me that anonymity in cryptocurrency attracts a large number of people.I as a member of the bounty participated in this project:http://stealthwallet.pro/.Tokens paid me, but there is no information about the listing yet.But I liked this project even though he's anonymous.

I would never want a project to be anonymous. If they disappear after two days, we won't know. There's no one to blame because we don't know anyone. So I would never invest in such a ico.Would not recommend to anyone.A very risky business.

Not all anonymous ICO teams are scams but there is a high chance that it will be. Your best bet is to pick an ICO with full transparency. Entrade is an established company so that is a good example of an open company

When deciphering between legit and scam ICO's, one of the main things everyone says is "you have a look at the team and see if they're transparent."

The thing is, the whole ideology behind decentralization is that it gives the public control over the economy's trajectory, rather than centralized and specific entities.

I see the Virternity Project, for example (https://virternity.com/), which prefers anonymity, but I'm not sure it means it's a scam ICO.

from their FAQ:

"Why aren't you revealing who is in your team?"

"The members of our team are enthusiastic about the idea of creating the Virternity space for the whole world. We want to avoid “buy-outs” of our specialists and co-workers, and also avoid pressure on them.

Also, given the limited financing at the initial stage, we are using anonymity as a shield for our technological secrets—the specifics of our current and future developments.

Many members of our team have serious jobs in major firms and do not want to advertise their participation in a non-commercial project, in order to avoid conflicts of interest.

In the future, once these factors are less of an issue, we plan to publicly name the founders and key personnel."

Satoshi remains anonymous..

Thoughts?

I believe that you are really right in this statement. Of course, earlier some projects with an anonymous team were successful. But now the situation has changed dramatically. In the current competition in the crypto market and a lack of investment, the project should be as honest as possible, with detailed information about the development team.

Although investment in crypto assets goes with some level of risks, I would say that is riskier to put your money into an ICO project with an anonymous team than it is to invest in a project with a verifiable team. Be wise in your choices and investment. Satoshi never asked anybody money to create Bitcoin. I believe that his decision to be anonymous was for the good of the community.

Investments in the cryptocurrency market are not much different from investing in business. So if you don't know who you trust with the money, will you put it there?  And now the risks in this market are very high. There is one rule, if you really want to have this risky asset, invest a dollar.

it's safer if we all want to invest in investing in the ICO, whose team profile is clear. I usually want to make sure their team is clear by visiting the official youtube from the token and there must be an explanation video from one of their teams if there is I already believe in the existence of their team and if there isn't already you have to be careful and gather more information about their team before investing.
