I'd post there more often if they got rid of the spambies, and the bounty hunters low value stuff.
You're like the model of generosity and kindness here on bitcointalk, JC. I wouldn't visit B&H if I had a gun to my head.
Just like Off-Topic and P&S, newbies frequent B&H to increase their activity--or at least they used to when all it took was activity to rank up. I have to plead ignorance as to whether anything has changed on those sections since the merit system was introduced. And not to be a prick (or
more of a prick), but I'd be willing to help if I thought most newbies were actually reading posts and not just here to spam.
I often see a lot of high rank members who answers repeated questions all over again
That's what I'm talking about. It's like all the replies we see in the ban appeal threads. The senior members keep repeating the same stuff: apologies don't matter, plagiarism isn't tolerated, a permaban means you can't create new accounts, etc.--and yet it's the exact same crap being posted by the people who got the ban. They just don't read.
I personally don't prefer to ignore.
Another reason can be- people don't want to visit Help and Beginners because most of the question have been answered thousands of time and still newbies are making a thread instead of using the search option.
After a while, you might just change that preference to not ignore B&H (and other boards as well). And yep, this issue would be so much less of a problem if people would not only use the search function but just do a little reading in general before jumping in as a member. I've said this a few times before: I lurked on the forum for months before I finally created an account, but the time I took reading about scams and stuff like that gave me a good idea of what the bitcoin economy is like as well as how the forum culture is.
Nowadays, it's as though bitcointalk is seen as a work-from-home job and not as a discussion forum, and I don't think a lot of people join the forum for the right reasons anymore. It's kind of sad, and it's very frustrating.
