Number two has changed every 2 years. And I think it will be changed end of this one. Ripple take second again. But I guess, No coin take first place never!

No coin will take the first place and bitcoin will continue to be the kind for a long time and if bitcoin loose some day it might take several years because as the first decentralized digital currency in the world the mark and the demand it has showed the entire world population is immense and surprisingly even with many restrictions, regulations and in a period with high amount of altcoin's still it is attracting high number of potential investors so no coin can take the first place for a long time

Every year bitcoin's dominance gets lower and lower. Even though it has remained at the top since the beginning, I can't shake off the thought that one day, a coin will be created that will surpass it--faster, safer--superior in every other aspect.

When we talk about cryptocurrencies, bitcoin comes first to our thoughts. This is the very first digital currency, and all the rest are its followers. Bitcoin was created ten years ago and holds despite all sorts of obstacles. And no cryptocurrency could not exceed bitcoin's value. This is what shows that bitcoin is king.

Many peeps including the op thinks that bitcoin is king and unbeatable because they only see its outside apperance . they see the price is high and its on the #1 rank but if we based on the inside specs , btc is the weakest of all crypt.  Why ? Simply because btc is too bulky , it cost alot of fees  . its network is overloaded  and its too unstable  .  

While other crypt on other hand are light weight . less congested  and pretty stable  . last but not the least they also got the potential to pump  .

rankings does not really matter but overall stats  does  .

The only hope for a "flippening" is that prices continue dropping and it's cheap to actually take the #1 spot from BTC.
And while I'll be shocked if this happens soon, I don't think prices will increase, at least not substantially. Even if we get BAKKT and a bull market to go with it, I think next bull market will be weaker than the last, for the first time in Bitcoin history.
But unless we drop below $1000 I don't think btc is under threat.

I am quite impressed to see the results. I already knew it would be bitcoin every year but the rank 2 and rank 3 were totally unexpected for me.
I thought Ethereum would stay in the 2nd position for long but little did I know that Litecoin and Ripple were equally good.
However Ripple managed to stay in the top 3 which was again quite expected. Surprised to see various other coins in the ranks 5 - 10.
Bitcoin yet again proves that no other coin stands a chance to defeat BTC despite all the dumps in the long bear market.

But I'm not sure whether private coins like Ripple and EOS actually make it to the top. With public cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Litecoin it is easy to estimate their market cap, but how to do that with private coins? I mean it is not a secret how many bitcoins are mined and we can pretty much trust this figure. But what about Ripple, for example? How do we know that its market cap actually reflects the amount of coins in circulation? How can we be sure that the real supply of XRP matches the reported one?

it's true that bitcoin dominates the high bitcoin value market and has gained more trust from the public making bitcoin able to survive and become king. investing in bitcoin can also provide a lot of profit.

It gives you profit if seriously work for it but if not, you simply wasting the great opportunity. Many were thinking for easy money in crypto and it encourage people to have the job. Bitcoin remains on the top even the dips we struggled and we are hoping for its come back, but unfortunately it won't came easily as we wanted to happen. Though the price isn't that high but we could still be gaining.

If we are referring the price or demand comparison between altcoin's and bitcoin not yet there is no cryptocurrency that any developer has made to compete with Bitcoin but it can happen in the future some times because even Bitcoin as the first digital asset has some weaknesses I see such as the low speed during transactions which I don't see in recently launched crypto but they to are second to Bitcoin due to its demand and popularity but future remains uncertain

No altcoin can defeat bitcoin and if we look into the market there are more than enough proof If there is a digital currency often transacted in exchanges or businesses it would bitcoin and it is a very useful and a profitable tool to invest or use as a means of payment so it has become very popular among business communities and potential investors and that is the main reason why even under major restrictions from governments bitcoin haven't lost its enthusiasts

BTC is a true king in the crypto world and no other currency in the crypto world can face and also survive that bitcoin has faced and I think there are major reasons why it has the capability to do that and one is the demand or power it has gained as the first digital currency in the world and another reason is bitcoin enthusiast because for any currency to be alive there should be users and without that no currency can continue and even bitcoin lost considerable amount of potential holders still there are many users from the beginning until now and that helped bitcoin a lot to survive with these restrictions or barriers and still hold its place as the king in the crypto world
