More and more Scammers are using Bitcointalk as a platform to scam users and projects out of their Bounty rewards. From massive multi accounting to using other peoples Social Media profiles to sign up for Bounty Campaigns and trying to steal the rewards this way.

The first step has been taken: Restrict newbie accounts from wearing a signature to keep the forum clean of spam.

So I was wondering...

Maybe if we could implement a voluntairy KYC to access the Bounty Section and create a sort of 'Verified Profiles'.

Something a long the lines of: If you would like to use this service please verify your identity.

I do realize we have the red trust system, but scammers can just open unlimited accounts and won't be stopped by red trust, besides this: BountyManagers are still accepting users with red trust anyway (maybe obtained by 'other untrustworthy behavior')

Or do you guys thinks it's the problem of the projects and hunters themselves and Bitcointalk is just facilitating a marketplace without any interference?

Just throwing it out there Wink

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

KYC

A quick search would have saved you the time you wasted making that post.

I'll get right on that, just as soon as hell freezes over.

Um, No..

ICOs are scams and hunters are scam spam shillers and they both just hurt eachother.

If you are stupid enough to hire fake followers and fake account shillers then you get what you get. Same if you are stupid enough to shill a scam.

I hope they all lose lots of money and learn their lesson. I don't think we should protect them and hold their hands one bit.

The merit system is controlling the fallout to the rest of the forum of signature spam and that's all that really matters.
I don't care how much FB and twatter get spammed, screw them too.

All of this ICO token crap has hurt the name of cryptocurrency in general so I hope they rot in the graves they dug themselves.

It exactly is, except it isn't really a market but a community that connects cryptocurrency enthusiasts from around the world to discuss, trade and share ideas.
ICOs are responsible for their projects on this forum and some are making mandatory to complete KYC process.
The forum does not need to verify the identity of it's users.

Then why are you running a signature from YütüCoin?

I agree man, just wanted to open the discussion and see how people feel about this. Hate KYC myself, being scammed also and in the end it's the ICO's their problem not the forum's.

Maybe if we could implement a voluntairy KYC
You broke forum rule number 34:

34. Asking to implement KYC is strongly forbidden and you will be kicked in the but if you continue to push it.

I'm not sure you can, just lock it if you think it has run its course.
