What's up with polmine - logged in and saw a negative balance. The statistics are borked and they mine NMC without crediting miners

Do you have some proof of this ?  Not doubting your accusation, just would be nice to see it confirmed.

Looking at the miner configuration it has BitCoin-NameCoin, yet there is no place to enter a payout address, additionally, I have been trying to get a payout since last Friday on an outstanding balance and no payment was made, none is show on the payment since Oct 15th, and the balance now displays:

Quote
Amount:
-0.03656426 BTC
Miners speed:
1907 Mh/s
Difficulty:
1203462

There is no email address to send an inquiry to:

while the user statistics show:

Which reward system do they use ? Could this simply be the blocks catching up and the pool still owing miners for shares ?

Proportional.

955/410461*50.03550010 = 0.1164152077676076

Their payout system is weird indeed, I got some crazy payout on previous short blocks then I got a huge payout above proportion for a long block.

I then combined the blocks and payouts and noticed it was the exact proportion payout combined across blocks.

Not sure how their actual calculations work but across different blocks it still paid out what it should have per block, so I didnt lose any value.

The namecoin mining is bit suspicious as I noticed this for last couple of days yet no namecoin balance credited.

Polmine has switched to PPS without notice and applied it retroactive to several blocks without notice. Avoid this pool.

They have fully converted now to PPS and retroactively applied it back to block 148 without notice:
http://forum.polmine.pl/index.php?topic=759.msg7200#msg7200

Google translated version:

Quote
After long debates, hard struggle, and considering all the pros and cons - it has been decided as follows:

0) thanks to a fruitful search for blocks in the last few days - there is a unique opportunity to transition to the PPS and see what such a settlement can give us

1) one of these series in the vicinity of 26-11-2011, we charge even after the old

2) a second from the vicinity of 28-11-2011, we charge after the new

3) introducing the PPS from block 148 (the amount in the statistics of this block is the same for "The BTC" and "The PPS")

4) does not charge any fees / percentages due to the introduction of PPS

5) payments and transfers will be unlocked

6) depending on the situation and stock in the treasury of the mine, the PPS will remain free as possible. If the situation demands it may be a small percentage will be introduced to improve the safety of the mine.

7) The amounts are calculated according to the PPS, however, if payment is made after falling block. If everything will be played, then a few days go on quite onlineowy PPS

VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE IS TO INFORM WHO DA PPS FREE INTRODUCTION
Dissemination of information on the introduction of PPS will be very helpful in the further development of the mine and contribute to the maintenance of the PPS on polmine.pl

We'll see what comes out of everything.
wait, observe and act!

I had 24.23 btc in earnings from several lucky prop rounds recently.  Polmine disabled any payouts and changed all earnings of earlier blocks to PPS.  My new payout: 9.11 btc.  No notice, no option to keep what you earned.  They kept the 15 btc difference between my prop and PPS earnings (and the same for other members) to fund their PPS buffer, without users' consent.

DO NOT MINE ON THIS POOL.   In the future, who knows what they will do with your earnings without telling you.

Went from ~1.43 BTC to 0.18 BTC, without warning.  Definitely not a happy camper.

You never posted it on your pool's website. You intentionally froze all payments before the switchover and then applied your new payouts retroactively.

It is you sir, who is the lier and thief. Your pool should be designated as a scammer zone and should be shunned by all.

By the way, I am the one who unlocked the topic to give you a chance to explain their actions.

I gave you a chance to explain why you thought is was OK to recalculate existing payouts. Yet you wish to repeat yourself once again.

1.Your forum is in polish, yet you had an interface to your pool in English.
2.You could have posted an announcement in English on your English Pool interface.
3.You also could have posted an announcement of the change here in the thread used to get miners.
4.You froze all payouts for days prior to making any change to the payout system.
5.You retroactively applied your new payout system to those frozen payouts.
6.You claimed that the differences on what was rightfully earned and what you paid out were to be taken by the pool to fund your pps.

Then after 11 months you come here to argue and defend your actions of stealing payments that were rightfully due to miners on your pool.

Those are your so-called lies.

You could have (should have) paid out all outstanding balances prior to your switchover. You FAILED to do that.

Good bye sir. I am done with you.
Take your dishonest practices and self delusion back to your forum on forum.polmine.pl

No tomaszsz, it is you that is lying.
You have effectively stolen approximately 60% of the payments you were supposed to pay out by freezing payments and retroactively applying a change to the payout system.  I don't have a problem with you changing the payout system, but you can't apply the change retroactively.  In fact, I believe most miners would expect a notification several days prior to the change taking place.  I did keep up with reading your pool's forum and was aware of the discussion to switch payout systems.  But that's all it was, a discussion (and a poll).  There was never any warning/notification to miners as to when (or if) the change was going to be made.

I don't believe anyone ever got a response or answer as to why payments were frozen in the first place.  It sounds to me like the intention was there all along to steal from/shortchange miners when you froze payments.

With more and more of these small pools dwindling away into the sunset, it becomes even more important for miners to ensure that they mine with a trustworthy pool.  Your pool should be relegated to the junkyard heap of pools such as bitclockers that have stolen from their members. Your switch to PPS will bring about your demise rather soon.  Good luck with that at your pool's current hash rate.

I also find it interesting that you only now decided to reply to this thread,  11 months later.

Good bye Polmine and good riddance.

Polmine has switched to PPS without notice and applied it retroactive to several blocks without notice. Avoid this pool.
You forgot to mention that this post was addressed only to pool hoppers. Honest folks might get the wrong idea.

JoelKatz,  both pool hoppers and non-pool hoppers were adversely affected by the retroactive change in the payout system.

JoelKatz says true, it was harmfull ONLY for hoppers, Honest folks who dont try do cheat are very satisfied with polmine.pl.

As I says it was a poll, so honest miners decide/vote  to switch do PPS, so it was peoples decision Smiley Evething was described on polish and english forum.polmine.pl before we switch to PPS.

As I says, we dont need cheaters, liars and hoopers. Even if you write your lies with big letters it wont become a true,

i dont want to fight on forum, i just want to inform people about REAL events on polmine.pl , and that what you post was just revenge not REAL information...
