Has anyone compiled the Linux source code for MAC users?  Please post here if you have.  We need to get the MacBook Pro folks on the network!
According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Have compiled a mac version of the wallet. I have added the nodes to the wallet from the website, so it should sync even without a .conf file.

Those of you with wallet connection problems, be sure your antivirus/firewall has allowed the hawaiicoin wallet program through.  It's probably blocking the application/port.

It has been mentioned in this thread already but the abbreviation HIC that you have chosen for this coin is already in use by Hirocoin. In order to get into an exchange, you are going to need to change it to avoid confusion. Maybe HWI HI5 ALOHA... some brainstorming is needed to figure this out.

Like the launch, like the coin, just needs a new abbreviation.

I'm partial to HI5 personally  Smiley let's see what we can come up with.

Alright everyone...as Whatsabitworth mentioned, let's look at a ticker/name change.  Please PM me any ideas and recommendations and I'll have it up on a vote form on hicoin.org by tonight!

We have started a buyback program for hawaiicoin.  Any miners looking to trade their coins in please contact us at admin@hicoin.org.  We are looking for large shares of hawaiicoin to buy back from the public.  Thank you.

Can you please change the block award to 500?
I've changed it on our opening post on this thread as well.

Has anyone developed an Android or iOS wallet app yet (at minimum to track Hawaiicoin balance)?  Let's get mobile folks!
We have Android on our roadmap but have hit a snag.

I may be able to put together the Android wallet if I can find the time, but I'd like to see us get Hawaiicoin on a few exchanges first to start building a market for it.   The coin will die without an active trading community.

I agree! There is only 2 or 3 people mining this coin. I put 10MH/s on solo mining last night and found a few blocks at difficulty 4, those coins are still in the immature state. At this rate it will take hours just to make a transaction on the network.
