In general, if we talk about long-term investments, then you need to have both in the portfolio. And if you have a trading strategy, now most of the portfolio should be Fiat currency. Little by little, you can buy bitcoin and top altcoins.

You have to invest into both coins because we usually see that when bitcoin rise Ethereum has also risen with flow. Which means bitcoin has more dominate over Ethereum. if my suggestion is you better to invest in Ethereum than Bitcoin, because I am sure indeed for now the price of Bitcoin is higher than the price of Ethereum, but in the future Ethereum price will increase higher than the price of BTC and of course it will give you big profit if you invest in Ethereum now and hold it until the price of Ethereum increase.

You said its not profitable but why did you said that it is reliable ? thats so confusing to me  .   what i understand is the term reliable is something that you can depend on or rely on but you cant rely on btc and eth or even on any other cryptos because they are all unstable . 

If you want reliablility then go on more stable sources of income like for example real jobs or real business that is away from cryptos .

You can do both because this two coin Is good  and proven that will give you a good profit. Even that market is volatile but still recommended to buy bitcoin and ethereum.

Hmm..i really don't know but me personally i would invest in BTC because i think that soon will gonna rise again (but that it's just an opinion) and besides that BTC has a much higher value than ETH.And it's a great time to buy BTC because now it has a very low price.

btc and ETH are the most profitable crypto. the reason why eth doesn't rise is a matter of time. we need to wait a little for ethereum to go up.

I still believe in ethereum and bitcoin even when the market is far away like this.
