KGW isn't well suited to a launch anyway - it certainly can't be used for the very first blocks (it needs a minimum lookback) and even if activated as early as possible, it's not ideal since there's so much variance in blocktimes when the network is growing. It's arguable 35000 is quite a lot of blocks to wait, but either way you look at it, nothing is broken and it's optimal to mine right now - in fact, diff just quadrupled to 16 so I'd get mining while the difficulty is relatively low!

Do you realize that people expected KGW at launch = about $1 per coin best case scenario and they invested 20 BTC into this?
