yes it's true now there are so many ico projects that cost far less than the price of ico sale. I think that because the crypto situation is now bad, the price of bitcoin and etherum is down which is the cause of the ico token far below the price of ico sale

This is not a fate of all the ICOs because too many projects are never reach the softcap itself. So we could not say clearly in ICOs lifestyle but we can choose best project in ICOs. My suggestion is IAN balina suggested projects make big success so who are all looking for right project it will be useful in future participation. Nowadays many scam projects are enter into the market so be aware ourself is the perfect fate.

ICOs are a just a way for money hungry people to get rich .They work hard on creating the best ICO ( as far as the crowdsale is going ) then completely abandoning their project once the Funds stops pouring . As you said 90% to 95% of them fail , so that's a huge red flag for anyone to not participate on any of these hyped up ICOs and if you decide to participate , you should have full knowledge about the background of the people behinde the project.

I guess the best way to raise funds for these projects ,is to open crowdsale only after having a running product as a proof . Yes It's gonna need an an investment from them , but if they believe in their project they are going to spend their money on it before you spend yours.

I think there should be other ways to raise money, but people should start to become more creative. I have been thinking about a small project myself. It does not require a huge amount to raise. But I was more thinking about GIVING the tokens as a reward.

Example: I create coin xxx that has a utility for gambling. Then I would first create a gambling site where BTC and other currencies can be used and give my coin xxx as reward as deposit bonus, bonus on wagering, jackpots, etc. As soon as enough tokens distributed this way I would introduce this as a payment method on the site and list it on exchanges. In this way my coin xxx would already have utility prior listing on exchanges.

I think this would be a good solution. I also think that 90% of the ICOs do not require such huge amounts to develop their product. Myself I have a small team of developers and we build things from the ground up for a fraction of what ICOs sometimes claim needing for their development.

You know what is main reason behind bounty/ico fail?? The main reason is the bull run. Before that everyone was happy with small amount of earnings in the form of BTC/ETH or any other token, at that time it was really easy to list a token on any exchange. There was limited number of exchanges. After bull run, people and exchanges become more greedier and they want more and more.

This is totally normal and I am not surprised that it happened. If Ethereum is down 80-90% how is it possible that ICOs that are built on it, hold their value and be competitive in the market? Totally impossible.
2018 was a corrective year that helped us to be more cautious and choose carefully where to invest next as we don't get excited by the bull markets and the general crypto hype.

It is just consequences of last years ICO hype, I mean we have invested over a billion dollars total into ICO's in 2017 and probably kept that up early 2018 as well, that made ICO space so big that the expectations grew bigger and bigger as well, people literally made 1000%+ of what they invested and anything like 50% increase was unacceptable and honestly if the prices went down even a bit people were calling the ICO's "scam" even tough market is horrible and there was nothing they could do about it.

So, right now the 2018 of horrible ICO and non funded new coins are all because we got into a hype last year and now considering new coins as toxic and not expecting anything new to grew while all these big coins are not growing. We want to first fix the things we have in our hands before we move to things that could improve the things we have.

I'm just glad that 99% of all ICOS are blown away and crash, because it's not normal when hundreds of projects are launched within a month that will not betray anything.

Every token in the market is down  and I’m not surprised about that because we are currently in bear market, so you shouldn’t be expecting them to be high in price. This is really going to take a long time before another bull run occurs. There are people who are even believing that the market won’t recover from this fall. Maybe the best thing you can do now is to trade those tokens.

Yes, staying away from ICO must be the right advice as of now. Still, I will not agree with the statement of market is down and that is the reason why projects are not performing well. I had seen some projects have performed well even in the negative work. So, blaming the trend of crypto currency is not a right approach for the failures of ICOs.

Its a bad condition for all crypto and ICO were terrible this year, all the price fall down sharply and some even not worth anymore after a while hit the exchanges, the developers need to think a better strategy to prevent huge dropping when it hit the market, because when it hit too low the investors won't take a glance at that coin anymore, and we already got too many ICO and the investors are not increasing, if ICO keep popping out, we will be flooded with unused coin

Yes, that is the reason why they are all going down. We don’t even know how far that’s going to be, cause it has really been a long time. Most analysis has been wrong in predicting the prices and a lot of people are just starting to lose hope in this cryptocurrency, maybe the newbies, cause any old investors would definitely take this as an opportunity.

But, this must be the right time to learn how old investors are doing. New investors should not get panic on seeing prices of bitcoin falling down, but they should make use of falling prices by buying at dips. When they keep doing it regularly then they will easily overcome the falling down market.

The ICOs are now declining in this current stage because there are now many investors who stop patronizing it. There are only few ICOs that are becoming successful, the trust between investors and ICO is continuing to go down.

But, what actually happened to the ICO industry is not just due to bitcoin price fall down. But, ICOs are suffering severely due to its own scammers. Yes, due to the unregulated environment, many scammy people have started to misuse the platform in the name of ICOs to steal innocent people's money. I don't think in 2019 this ICO industry will be surviving or may not, by considering how depth it has fallen down on its own reasons.

We must need some regulations for these ICOs. That regulations could be possible in decentralized manner like from this community itself we can regulate them so that it will not suffer any more. I have seen many people have started discussions on this but none of them found reasonable to this community. It seems people are not interested to regulate the ICO industry and this must be the core reason why it is into its current state.

Personally I have stopped contributing into ICOs and honestly I'm not having any idea to resume it. I will be watching how some ICOs will be performing and based on that I will decide further.

Now it is hard for everyone, not only ICO, so the most optimal solution is to wait, and let the opponents of the expectations shout that this is stupid, but for those who have invested large sums in 2018 projects, the only way out of losing their investments is waiting. The ICO will even grow more if we will continue to support it but it seems that the ICO investment are now losing support from cryptocurrency community because most of the ICO is always dumping after its token listed on a exchanges.

I still have hopes for my owned coins which is mostly from ERC20 ICO. The good thing is I dont really have a choice or it is just a damned loss if I give it up or sell it.
