I think it's because of the odds, when you are betting on the favorites and you bet on ML, you won't get at least 1.90 odds, most probably you'll get a lower odds and that will not help you in the long run.  Most of the bettors I guess are betting on the point spread and total so they'll get a good return.

If you are aiming to a much higher earnings then choosing over and under or handicap would be your  best options. If you have good knowledge between the opposing teams.

You can weight the handicap, picking which side you'll be placing your bets depends from how you really understand the game.

Adding to that, there also chances that low odd can still lose your bet, if you are fully into gambling this type of bets probably
the best one to test both your luck and knowledge.

Yeah, I lost but that means the NBA is really back and I feel it now unlike the preseason games.
But, I am still looking for my courage to bet with teams instead of just over and under.
Maybe a few more games until I analyzed all teams on how they play.

The knicks will play a half court grind it out kind of game.  With thibs now coaching, the 4 games I saw in preseason they will definately be playing much more defense than in years past.  I have this game at like 107-95.  Could be wrong but this is my pick of the night.

We had only two games yesterday and i ended up with like 5 bets one the Nets/Warriors, i was heavily invested on the Nets, as you can see [1, 2, 3].

Today, 13 games on the schedule (well actually 12, Rockets/OKC game is postponed) and i can't make up my mind to even take one bet, hehe just way too much info/lines to process, it feels overwhelming, especially if you had very little time...

I will update this post if i find something interesting/worth betting on, TOR/NO and BOS/MIL are the games i'm focused on, trying to find some good value.

Beal didn't play in all of WAS preseason matches, afaik he is also dealing with a back injury. Now with Westbrook, i don't see many of those 30+ pts games he had last year, and besides, the 76ers have decent perimeter defenders, no easy matchups for him (except for maybe Seth Curry).

I watched a little bit of Magic's last preseason game, A.Gordon looked pretty good, 15-20pts should be within his reach in this game, Heat only play one big guy at a time - Bam, so it's either Butler or Harkless on Gordon, i also don't expect this to be a blowout game.

I'm going to take this, Knicks now is a completely different team, they'll not be lazy in the defense so I think it will be be an under, and I like the number in the totals, it seems it's screaming for the bettors to bet on over.

It's now officially back, season opener already been done yesterday and for sure there are lots of gamblers who enjoyed the first 2 games results.

With how the changes from all those franchise it's really tough now to call who's the favorite and who's the underdogs not even the odds can dictate that. A matter of your trust and knowledge within the team that you'll going to pick and bet.

Knicks defense looks like it always has, lol.  They got fast breaked into submission.  I know its only one game but barrett shot the lights out and they got smoked.  Their defense needs to tighten up or its back to the top of the lottery again.  At least I get to vote against Dallas since the knicks get their 1st round pick too.

I'm betting on the handicap and the total, but we should not discuss more of that here as this thread is support to be sharing your opinion on a certain pick and that's what OP has been doing.

You were right, and I was way over my head with my picks especially with the Bucks at Boston, I was only hoping Giannis and co will get fired up, but the game became a really close one at the end... Both of my picks were wrong, so I've started off wrong with a wrong foot

Its the first game no need to panic people have bad games.  Lillard will be fine.  Portland is a fringe playoff contenders, the jazz are definately a better team then them so its not crazy they got beat like this.  But honestly again, its one game.

Too early to judge him up, there's  a time that players have a bad night it's not because he wanted to be traded or so, off night on their first game, not a big deal.

There are still lots of chance to bounce back and play well, they might be still in the process or still catching up with each other.

Moving forward, Nets have another game they will be test against Boston, love backing them up @ 1.69 ML
