So I've gone on a bit of a merit awarding spree. Threads and posts about Bitcoin, cryptos and the global economy seem to have improved a bit.
Please keep it up guys, as this year is going to be a really important one for everybody, and not just those of us who support crypto.

Can we have more threads about the South American and African economies, and the use of crypto-currencies to help members who are in countries with oppressive regimes. I'd also be interested in more comments about the ways for people to help family members in such countries. Let's see if we can recruit more new members, and help them to avoid excessive bank charges taking money from payments destined to help family members.

Just as I commented in a thread some minutes ago,its really been a good 2019 thus far for the bitcoin community in terms of post quality, and if we keep moving at this pace it wouldn't be long before the shitposters actually find less of threads their knowledge would be able to comprehend effectively
Can we have more threads about the South American and African economies
Especially in the poor African countries ravaged by poverty as a result of poor governance, and incompetent government, the more the knowledge of cryptocurrency spreads to such areas, the better for them, but with a reasonable lack of knowledge about the system(over there)it maybe difficult to inculcate to a reasonable degree

2019 might be a good start for this forum because of the current fall of BTC value, shitty spammers will not waste their time making post here if they're just getting cents here.

Remove the people whose on the current seats on the political industry and replaced them by people who is much like to help other people and not their own. That way a lively economy will start to rise, then the crypto economy will slowly be introduced to them.

Many years have passed and yet many african natives are still poor and getting starved to death especially on some remote areas. Only politicians can work this out and put an end to this. As well as the bank charges made by in every transactions,.. people are very fond of using credit cards nowadays so I think there's nothing we can do about them even if we make a suggestion here.

Can we have more threads about the South American and African economies, and the use of crypto-currencies to help members who are in countries with oppressive regimes..
For a start, the opposite party in my county  [Nigeria] is planning on taking advantage of the blockchain technology [just as I reported Here] this act already is fueling some talks on blockchain and cryptocurrency in general. So I will keep an eye on our economy to see how it affects it and more reports will be coming soon. For now we have election around the corner (February) so everyone just waiting for the out come of the election.

Blockchain education is vital going forward, it would make the public aware if how the technology can be leveraged on by small and medium economy countries.
I once saw this post on countries which are using the blockchain in electioneering processes.
This is just an example of how it can be applied.

Firstly compliments of the season and I hope it's brings us good progress.
I must say I am very moved by your interest in the oppression going on in developing countries where the leaders are getting fat of the masses especially in Nigeria where most of it citizens leaves in poverty and the government has refused to increase the minimum wage which is at the moment a minute $50 a month even with the treats by the Nigerian labour congress to go on strike if it's not increase to around $85 they government remains adamant a whole lot of oppression is going on in the country and I have made a post about it in the politics and society section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5074280.msg48152962#msg48152962 and with the general election coming up this year and as usual might not be free and fair

I guess with current dip in BTC prize spammers lost interest in this forum or as well in crypto.
I guess number of post created also reduced. Only users who are interested in discussion and reading daily are posting in this forum.

On my local board (Spanish) there are a few topics on the matter, and some forum members have gone and posted the translation of their threads on the general English boards. There’s a recent thread by @MbyzIco (see Let's talk a little about Venezuela) which depicts the situation in Venezuela (average salary, trading, mining, Petro crypto, government control over exchanges and whatnot, etc.). Nevertheless, being an interesting topic, it doesn’t seem to attract much interaction on the thread.

I've rather neglected Fit to Talk recently, and I must give that  kick start. I seem to be getting a bit more interaction on other sites. It's pst like this one made by a Venezuelan, that make me want to help people.
Quote
Last week I was in the capital of the country, I tried to legalize documents to see if I can get out of here, but I had to go downtown (many streets) in the rain. Then I ran to the bus station where I managed to get one but it had air conditioning and I was with wet clothes. I guess that was what caused me to get sick.

The problem is that I could not do the paperwork I needed, all because of a stamp that was missing, so it was a vain trip that only served to spend money, get sick and have a bad time.

I've synchronised a Dash node to see if I can do anything, but I'm not sure where I can discuss this in Bitcoin Talk.

Let's see if we can recruit more new members, and help them to avoid excessive bank charges taking money from payments destined to help family members.
Bitcointalk users know crypto is down, but not with southern Africa, there Cryptocurrency trading has been increasing in Africa lately, which I know that almost half of crypto users are mostly educated menuniversity.

For now, Crypto already has 1.5 million customers, estimated by more than 40 countries worldwide, using the main exchange platform for Bitcoin BTC. Now it has been responded to by increasing demand for crypto in the African country.

"A brief history of Africa cruel to Bitcoin users occurred Early this year, there was a typical experience of Cape Town businessmen but it was over, by paying around 50 Bitcoin by his family, this is very sad. In this case in Africa, people spendan average of 27 cents for each cellular credit top-up."

So the point:
If you continue to carry out your mission vs. your vision, I believe that cryptocurrency will drive the financial revolution in Africa, especially crypto.

That is very good of you awarding smerit to posts that merit it, and to encourage the creation of a thread which will deal with the economic situations of third word countries cause most of the members of this countries are under oppression of the evil regime and economic recessions and introducing cryptocurrency to members of this countries will help them in they financial life and eradicate the third party system of financial transactions.

It's quite a struggle to get some discussions going on the forums. In fact I seem to get better results from talking to the staff in McDonalds. I've found some interesting people from Peru, Venezuela and other South American countries. They have made it to England to work, and they send part of their wages home to help their families. They seem to enrich the bankers as they do this.

I don't know what I can do to generate more interest and action in Bitcoin Talk. I don't speak Spanish, so I can't post on the local boards. Brexit is going to give Britain a wonderful chance to work with people around the world, and it won't just be our economy that will be the richer for it.

I think what you ask for, and the way you ask is very vague and difficult to contribute. It gives the impression of being at school, where the teacher gives a theme for the essay and the students strive only to fulfill the number of lines and take a grade that is enough to pass.

A forum is a place for discussion, not for answering tasks. Maybe ask for more specific issues and give time for people who really know the subject to comment. I am very curious to read reports from people who use cryptos to send values between countries. As in this example you mentioned where people who work in England send dollars to their relatives in other countries. This is very common, but I do not see cases of people using crypto for this. If it exists, I would like to read about.

But to be honest, I do not even know in which forum section such a subject could be discussed.

It could be on the Politics & Society Section, Economics Section or the Off Topic Section.

Well it's a new year and probably alot of users made a nice new year resolution.
Probably?  Well it really might be, but having a good look on the Politics & Society Section will make you a religous nerd or even a democratic passionists. I just hope that there will be a new good topics on that section. Though, I havent visited the Economics Section yet , maybe its more full of redundant topics there.

Can we have more threads about the South American and African economies, and the use of crypto-currencies to help members who are in countries with oppressive regimes. I'd also be interested in more comments about the ways for people to help family members in such countries.
I'd love to hear more about these same things, but I'm going to tell you something.  People from all over Asia and Africa are writing on this forum all the time, and they're mostly very generic statements and don't give the reader any clue as to how crypto is being used in any of those places.  I was trying to figure out the extent to which bitcoin and Dash specifically were being used in Venezuela, where they're actually having a hyperinflation situation, and all I've ever seen were the news quotes from Hydrogen.  All the comments added nothing to any of it.

Maybe I've gotten too cynical, but I don't expect a lot from the lower ranks in terms of a serious discussion about bitcoin in the 3rd world.  This, unfortunately, is what we usually get:

Well I would say that bitcoin has a good future because it started so well you know, and I think btc will just get better and better, and as it gets better more people start to use it.So I think btc's future is looking bright.
I think Bitcoin will have a bright future in the future, Day by day Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency is becoming very famous and profitable around the world so It will play an important role in the future. I also assume that Bitcoin will dominate in the money market very soon.
Don't worry about the future of bitcoin, bitcoin will have a bright future because bitcoin is the basis of crypto and will remain the main one in crypto. Don't doubt the bitcoin and believe in bitcoin then you will get a good profit.

And so on.  Maybe if you start threads in Serious Discussion or Ivory Tower, there may be some merit-worthy discussion, but not in most of the other sections.

I've found some interesting people from Peru, Venezuela and other South American countries. They have made it to England to work, and they send part of their wages home to help their families. They seem to enrich the bankers as they do this.
So have you asked any of these people if they've ever heard of or used bitcoin?

I don't know what I can do to generate more interest and action in Bitcoin Talk.
With the vast popularity of the bitcoin and cryptocurrency at least 5 in 10 people have heard about bitcointalk and the bitcoin, though probably only 2 in 10 could probably have taken the initiative to do more research on it and get to know the various advantages it affords them in their society and personal life.
So have you asked any of these people if they've ever heard of or used bitcoin?
This should be the main question, and I think quite a lot have heard about it,but the number that have actually used or tried to get into the system is minimal and most times its due to what the society affords them and how it portrays the network to'em, for now I don't think there is anything more you or I can do, the internet is there for all to use and develop themselves

I'd love to hear more about these same things,...any clue as to how crypto is being used in any of those places....

I'm from Asia, and to be more precise, I'm from the Philippines. As you already know, the economy here isn't that great. And we also experience what african natives does. The only difference is that we are over crowded here by criminals.

Bitcoins doesn't have much use here, only few people knows bitcoin or even the Digital Currency. And those who knows cryptocurrencies, they only use this for trading to gain more valuable coins and then tradr it into fiat. When it becomes money then it will be used for their everyday needs.

Some people make an investments on other platforms that is said crypto related but they only turn into a scam after they collected millions of Peso. People here are always easy to fool when it comes to money.

I was trying to figure out the extent to which bitcoin and Dash specifically were being used in Venezuela, where they're actually having a hyperinflation situation, and all I've ever seen were the news quotes from Hydrogen.
I can talk in english all you want from the situation here if you point me to the right thread. Have done some comments here and there but there is little interest it seems. BTW: Hyperinflation is still going on and everyday is getting worse, faster; exactly like the theory and history of other countries said it would. Same mistakes, same results...

I concur. I think it's the result of active spam reporting and the Merit system, but especially the cooling down of the ICO and crypto hype. However, as soon as crypto prices go flying again, we should be prepared for yet another wave of spamming treasure hunters, on their eternal quest for free money.

So let's not let our guards down in 2019.
