It os very difficult managing a large portfolio of alts, you may often miss certain opportunities. Have had a coin that I have been holding and forgotten until it pumped and dumped hugely below buy price. Still in my wallet and have been counted as a bad investment

I do not think that missed token swap is the worst scenario for investor. The worst scenario is a dead project, a project that is active few months after the token sale but they suddenly decided to end the development. This can be considered as a scam, they raised money for the development, but there is no one to punish them .  Huh

I also often experience this forgetting which coin I deposit, because I keep too many different types of coins and put them on some exchangers, especially swap coins.  some time ago there was a friend who told me about delta balances, on the site I was able to more easily manage my crypto coins assets.

Thanks for your valuable information. This may happen when you are too much busy or you have a large amount of portfolios. If you are busy in other sort of work, you may not have enough time for cryptocurrency and you will miss deadline for swap or KYC verification to  claim coins. So we must get updated about the project we have invested in.

Have too much portfolios and too diverse are the main reasons I forgot my coin, I think I have forgotten a huge chunk amount of coin in my address which I have forgotten private key alone, I really think that it's better for people with many altcoins to atleast have their own private portfolios management for the sake of not forgetting the coins.

It's true, I prefer limiting my portfolio to maximum of 5 solid projects, rather than buying too many coins that I can't keep up with all.  When holding coins, I usually turn on social media notifications especially twitter for the said projects, to avoid missing useful info. By the way thanks for this post, and sorry for your loss.

I know what you mean. Having a diverse portfolio is important but if you get it too diverse, it can bite you where it hurts. Token swap can be handled but there are projects that completely die after a year or so and some of them even delisted from the exchange that's why it's safer to stick to top 50 if you don't like watching the chart all day.

Your choice is very right, choosing to focus on some good projects is not too many assets because it will reduce our focus in assessing and analyzing projects. even in long-term investments we have to make careful calculations.

It depends on a person. If you can concentrate, you will never forget to control all of your tokens. On the other hand, if you have more than 25-30 alts, it can become impossible. The portfolio should not have only 1-2 cryptos, at least 10-14 are needed.
I think if we have a lot of altcoins, it's not a good thing because we have to really pay attention to the development of our coins.
Having 1-10 altcoin in my opinion is enough, more than that is already excessive.
that's just my personal opinion, because we have to focus on observing every coin we have.
if too much do we have keep our focus to do it ??

I meet information almost everywhere that professionals always advise even the newest investor in this field to invest in at least 10 projects that he thinks may be the most promising.  K I think that this is the most correct approach anyway, because at least after a certain time, at least in the results of 50 percent of your beckoning there will be 100% luck.

So, as you guys know, most coins will do swap when they perform blockchain upgrades or changing the coins to to a new coin

I just forgot about one of my coins and the swap was ended in the 31st of December
and guess what?

I just lost 0.3 btc because of it
God damn this is so painful

Been holding the coins since 2 year ago in the ICO stage

yes I agree with you, why buy lots of coins but not profitable later. it's better to buy coins that are already in the top 100 markets, it will most likely be profitable later. as a trader we must be smart in choosing coins that we will invest later, so that the profits obtained are as expected.

I also have many coins before but I didn't forget about it. I even stored them on their own wallets and didn't keep them on exchanges. I've also made backups of those wallet too. It's the owner's fault if he forgot his coins. For me if I spend money or time into it I wouldn't go it into waste. Even if it's just a small amount of money it can still buy something.

It is important to understand that no one knows how expensive these or other coins may cost in the future. ETH is one of the famous examples. and if you forgot your passwords then it is very upset

I made this mistakes sometimes back but now, I'm better and know better. I don't hold on to too many tokens as I know it's the surest way to losses. No matter the hype, I just buy and trade off on getting some Profit. I believe greed is also part of this issue with trades who keep.hilding till it's dips.

You can and should keep multiple tokens depending on your finances. If the amount of investment is low, you should focus on 1-3 altcoin, while a large investment can amount to more than 10 altcoin. But have to understand carefully before investing

this is fact!!! I can use myself as an example in this case. There have been situation where I couldn't follow up all the projects I held its token and missed out on important updates from the team.

Right, sometimes we have difficulty controlling it if we have lots of coins. many people are competing to buy coins which in the end they forget and once they see it the price of the coin has fallen. then it will suffer losses.

To buy a lot of different coins, not very reasonable. But bounty hunters get different coins from airdrops and bounty, then they better sell coins that don't inspire confidence.

It is right, it is not really recommended to have or hold too many coins because it won't be easy to monitor the project of all of them. Investing in like ten solid projects should be enough and it will also be easy to see there achievements.

That's a sad story. If you invest such an amount in a single project, you should follow it in Social Medias like Twitter or Telegram to keep abreast the possible swaps. Anyway, it is better to split your funds between many project.

Probably my biggest mistake is to keep the portfolio more than 20 different alts, it is better to concentrate on fewer but to follow them carefully.
