I must be reading the OP wrong, does anyone know what the current block rewards are?

I thought this...

BLOCK REWARDS
Year # MIN MAX
Year 1: 1000 10000*
........
*(prior to block 3263: 500 5000)

...meant that current block rewards are 1000-10000 (since we're past block 3263), but I just hit a block for 938.5 coins.  Am I reading this wrong?

Magical crypto fairy just took the difference between 1000 to 938.5 as a fee, this is the best answer I could find:)
POB/POT block

Aah.... for POB/POT blocks.  This makes more sense but I like the magical crypto fairy explanation better.  Smiley

So what are the block rewards for POW blocks?

between 1 and 10k for the first year - POB/POT blocks split the POW reward.  This you FJ9ihcwZ7Lcf2JuwKZ6cmoUDc3YFYxc9UC ?

Fork has occurred. Cloudminers is mining different blocks to the rest of the pools.
no, they are on the right chain...

Nobody online from bitember staff... there are some problems with the pool, no payout from morning and no unconfirmed coins showing up , just confirmed, also on the pool you have "We are investingating issues in the backend. Your shares and hashrate are safe and we will fix things ASAP." For people that want to change , flutter.miningwith.us seems to be going well, I am getting unconfirmed coins but we would definetely need some more hash this way...

in my experience this means that you ARE mining coins, it's just that the pool is having issues paying them out. it usually gets sorted out in a day or two.

Which is the total amount of coins?

I don't think there is a set total or max number of coins. I think this is because the randomality of the PoS / PoB maybe?

Here is a quote from the announcement:

Quote
•There is no maximum number of coins, proof of work for the first 7 years is roughly a minimum 500 million and maximum 5 billion.

i like not having a hard cap on the number of coins. i think in the future we are going to lose a lot more coins than people think, due to throwing away hard drives, natural disaster, people dying unexpectedly, etc, than we think. a good coin needs to be able to compensate for the coins that will inevitably be lost forever. otherwise as coins disappear forever, the coin becomes too much of a commodity.

More miners on http://flt.bitember.com please. Let us keep the hash evenly distributed amongst the pools. We have everything to gain from that.

yep, hashrate dropped off for Huh? reason, which leaves difficulty too high - but it adjusts per block so it self adjusts

Well, Bit is charging 3% (quite high, IMO), compared to 1%... sorry needs to come down before i go back.

I think that figure is incorrect. Bitember + cloudminers + miningwith.us have 170Mh+ combined.

Ok, I think I understand now.  Thanks for your speedy responses.  Since the difficultly has dropped, maybe I'll toss some more hashes at solo mining and see how it goes.

Yeah, that looks like the address I was mining on but am not currently at that computer so can't verify for sure.  Should have been an 89xx block I think.

Anyway, thanks!  Let's keep this coin going.

One more thought... Flutter coin would probably benefit greatly if some merchants accepted it or there was some other excuse for people to send lots of coins around, hoping for those POT blocks.
