Sports is one of favorite option in gambling. People bet much on it because sports betting is easier, sometimes predictable although sports are risky because some unexpected also happens. Anyway, I don't gamble too mych. Only bet on some of the sports and the amount is not a bigger one.

If I were like you, with all that knowledge about sports, I'd do the same. But I rarely watch sport games of any kind, so when I do sports betting I must research first and then make my conclusions.  I rarely succeed because 30 minutes of researching can't be enough for having a good idea on what team should I bet on. Yes, well if you're pretty familiar with how the game works and how good the players are then there's a pretty good chance for you to win. You can have some confidence with the team you bet on if you know them to be good. A number of factors can contribute to a win - the game strategy, good players, good coach etc. Whereas in gambling it's all based on luck. I think football has bigger fans inside the game especially if one big event comes and I am sure that every broker will appear and give offers to place with them. I see this in my real life, and I saw some of my friends become an instant broker too hahaha

Sports results are more unpredictable. This means that the risk when placing a bet against the strong team is smaller.
There are many value bets in sports betting than in other gambling games. I think that there is a huge opportunity of winning a high stake when you gamble in football and this is the reason why people put bigger bets in sports.

Well this is all my assumption about why do people place bigger bets on sports compared to other type of gambling. Yes, if a strong team plays against a weak team predicting the outcome with a reasonable degree of accuracy is an easy task. But, given that the multiplier is going to be 1.1x, isn't it the same thing as betting on a dice site with 90% win chance?

It is because you are evenly watching the sport games and you are also familiar with the playing teams which your bets can be basically based on the stats or rate of winning of the gaming team you are betting with. You might see sports betting as a much easier type of gambling maybe because you are a big fan of sports which also other people do. Betting in sports is basically upon observation on the past game's performance do affect on how you secure your bets to acquire a win.
