You don't have to announce that if it's only 500 satoshi, you should have announce how good the site is in tracking your wallet grade among other things then proceed that will get 500 satoshi for doing something, 500 something is not worth for doing task now when you can earn a thousand times in bounty campaign.

Are you sure you didn't just sign up with their service or something?

I wouldn't be surprised if this was some form of welcome bonus, or may could just be an attempt at promotion by OP.

I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't think twice about finding or seeing this show up in a wallet.

I say this is no joke. Because they will not send the amount of BTC without knowing your BTC address. So, I want you to recall that. You may have participated in an airdrop campaign that was paid for with BTC.

no promotion mate (though ridiculous amount Grin ) i don't share my btc addresses on public, not interested in forum campaigns or others . i'm not sure how they find my address but probably random .
Either random or they were just sent It wrongly and its for some other address that join airdrops, though you are right that its a ridiculous amount lol..anyway just keepit and it may grow value in the nexr 10 years or more 😂

It's probably airdrop. But you're very unlucky if it was sent by mistake. Larger amounts could have come. You could be rich. You could invest and maybe fold money:)

I think it's possible that you are following an airdrop or telegram bot that gets a salary of 500 satoshi. Then the airdrop or telegram bot pays not using satoshi but directly with bitcoin.

lol it's no possible because i totally ignore airdrops, tokens, bounties , not my area of interest .
i was advertising with ad-networks and CPA offers . maybe they did leak my bitcoin address.
or the the site that trying to get my attention send to random addresses from blockchain.com explorer  Cheesy .

Well I have seen things like this happen more often.
It basically is a company/coin/whatever that wants to attract attentions, and sends out a large number of very small amounts to known used addresses, and hope that the receiver will check out who sent it.

yup , but i don't use my e-mails/bitcoin addresses with any service that give freebies or bounties .

nothing about "spam" is funny! and the amount of bitcoin you received is going to cost you more than it paid you
Hahahahahahahaaha... That is very true. As the day goes by, people are finding and inventing new strategies and ways to spam people with bitcoin in their wallet.  Today you are happy, the following day you will be sad just because you want free things.....  Grin Grin Grin

i have checked my wallet and found payment of 0.00000546 BTC from address i don't know 1ViViGLEawN27xRzGrEhhYPQrZiTKvKLo.
first time i receive something like this  Cheesy.
i did some google search ,turned out a site with name vivigle who sent it , i don't care if this just advertising , it's funny  ,

That's amazing as this looks like a free gift. Potentially no one would love to send such amount of Bitcoin just for free if not promotion, bonus or airdrops. Maybe you have applied in airdrop long time ago and forgotten or free bonus for signed up in any of the website. If this is untrue then be ready for the worst maybe its just a spam.

I believe you have carried out one form of task or the other for you to have received such amount, may be you sign up on they site and decided to welcome you by sending you some amount of bitcoin to encourage you. Most site carry out such promotional bonus and invite incentives too.

I think this kind of case happened to another user or someone's bitcoin wallet. And if you see the number that is only 500 satoshi, chances are it's the result of airdrop or you participate in other gifts. Think of it as an unexpected fortune and it is not something that is funny or accidentally misdirected. Hopefully you are always lucky, friend  Smiley

I was browsing my wallet details on Blockchain's explorer, and after doing some digging into who might've sent me the coins, I stumbled upon this thread. My transaction happened to come from the tx eb475a400defc4d3223be7dd8c1afb73fc6f558220770ac55601b030d5312b91 and the same address as listed in the OP, 1ViViGLEawN27xRzGrEhhYPQrZiTKvKLo. Seems like this is coming from a service named Vivigle that specialized in 'rating' cryptocurrency, funnily enough I am getting a "C" looking up my wallet on their site. I don't appreciate spam at all and I'd rather have one less transaction than one or two cents coming into my wallet, though. I combine transactions every few months on purpose so that I don't get increased fees on every transaction I make, and this just sets me back every time I clean up my wallet(s). Definitely seems like Vivigle's trying to advertise itself through this new form of advertisement, though having to Google the wallet address just to find out where the coins are from doesn't seem very efficient for advertisement to me.

this is something that you have participated before because the vivigle wont know your address unless you post it to somewhere, for me, they dont waste their time looking for btc address and send that kind of amount.

that's worth a lot in 2017 but not anymore with the present price I would not even bother to do research where it came from but 1 bitcoin is a different story noting funny about that I have received a small amount from faucets without knowing it because of my referrals click.

that's really strange to tell you honestly, you might be joined before in bitcoin faucets then it just sent to your wallet, but to send it to your wallet without any reason, that's really insane and ridiculous mate. Well, if that's really true be thankful at least you experienced that kind of free bitcoin to your wallet.

It seems that you may have forgotten that once upon a time, you've participated in their airdrop or something. Or maybe this can be a registration reward.
 [check this out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5079731.0]
I am most certain that you've done something. Nowadays, nothing is free. How on earth will they be able to have the informations of your wallet? Did they randompicked it out of thin air?
But anyway, i am most glad that you were one lucky guy.

A random selections coming from the owner of that project, same like with other post here, maybe its's a new way for promoting the project, given those who received the said amount of satoshi and being curios it will lead them to find the site where details will be explained, but considering the effort of
checking where the funds came won't be bothered those many people who knows the value of 500sats.

500 free satoshi is nothing in this day of age, consider yourself lucky and maybe this is a sign that you are welcomed.
On the other hand I cant say I have honestly ever seen someone upset with free satoshi in their wallet.
