Mining is getting me nowhere, what about poker?

I've only managed to get like .25 bitcoins so far from mining ( a month) and i was thinking maybe i can grow it faster by playing online bitcoin poker.
Im a pretty decent player and of course there is a big chance of me losing, but i am willing to take the risk.

Do any of you guys do this? If so, which site do you use?

Actually poker also takes skill, so if you are a skilled player yes you can always win. Provided you play in real life.

I don't think thats entirely accurate. There are many successful, online and live poker pros. Poker is not necessarily gambling but more about statistics and being able to know when your had.

The only main *risk* with Bitcoin Poker is you don't have regulated sites like Pokerstars, etc. that are audited and tracked properly to ensure they are not pulling off the next Full Tilt Scam/Insert other Black Friday Sites here.

I've actually made money playing online poker. I've been playing for like 10 years and i play a few times a week in a casino! Also, my buddy in OR put himself through school playing online poker! I'm not really worried about losing everything because i play tournaments only. I just wanna know of a site that doesn't fuck their users over.

pocketrocketscasino.eu is good if you like OFC or have DOGE.
betcoinpoker.com is new but doing a good job with their tourneys.
satoshipoker.org had a lot of nice tourneys but traffic declined a bit last few months.
gridpoker.eu some decent small tourneys, and also OFC

The house always wins... When your playing a game that uses the house.
Poker is head to head no house involvement. Unless he;s playing against the dealer which I don't think was his idea.

Poker is a great way to earn some extra BTC, or cash.
People do make a living off playing, and those are the ones you need to lookout for.
Watch for bad beats as well.

exactly! poker, im playing other players. Specially when it comes to a tournament. House gets a cut from the buy-in and thats it. This isn't blackjack!

I think you lost to mutch on online poker and blame it on some rigg.
The odds are true but say that it is like you say it is: "You will never get TRUE ODDS like a LIVE GAME". Then its this for all players = fair.
Or are you one of them that always are the one that have that extra unluck? Like if the casino was against especially you. Like they programmed it to be against THAT player, no one else.

Same here, having played online and live. In fact, I lived at Sam's Town Casino and Resort in Tunica for two years straight, having the room comped a majority of the time for playing on their tables X hours a day.

I've lived in Biloxi for almost two years, and lived in Las Vegas six times, six months at a time. The entire time playing poker until playing the slots became more profitable.
