As been observed that bitcoin and altcoin discussion had huge spam posts and moderators had already told about this how heavy thier work on moderating in that sections.
The spam is worst in the altcoins board and this is simply because Bounty Managers hardly find time to run through the weekly post history of their participants. The BMs are only interested in meeting up with the quota.

Really? I don't think so.
Bounty managers like Yahoo (whenever he takes a bounty work) and Hhampuz do check the quality rather than just seeing whether the quota has been met or not. While I'm saying these 2 names, by no means am I pointing fingers or questioning any other BMs or their works as I've only observed these 2 managers on a personal level.

Both mention BM were really good and I can't say anything in their professionalism how they handle bounty projects. But, I may add too a new bounty BM that in my opinion consider as one or belong to reputable bounty managers. @CryptopreneurBrainboss had really good work. He just need more experience and more project to handle to get his name like the other mention name of reputable BM above.

Just jumping in to correct you slightly. He certainly didn't mean Hhampuz nor Yahoo when he stated that generalism about BM's and quotas. He mentioned altcoins board and neither Yahoo nor Hhampuz do altcoin bounties, only BTC ones, so they don't fall into that category.

But of those that do fall into altcoin bounties category, there are for sure present, bounty managers that only care about mechanics and quotas and completely disregard the quality.

Not needed, seriously not needed after reading your whole comment, you woke up a sleeping tiger. So be it.

Read and check my comment very carefully (and yeah, with open eyes of course), I gave those 2 as an example. Mpamaegbu said altcoin board is full of spam, okay I accepted it. But, when he accused all the BMs not focusing on quality and rather quantity (as he didn't add "few" before BMs in his comment), I wanted to chime in and let everyone know that not ^all BMs^ look for quantity alone (and I'm not targeting anyone while responding to this guy's comment). Now, for your general knowledge, I was aware of one of the altcoin campaigns managed by Yahoo named Justdatingcoin, do search for it and you will know. About Hhampuz? Really? He doesn't manage bounties and only manages BTC campaigns alone? You need to scratch your head when you say that comment in front of me. I know each and every manager here very carefully and I know their works too, don't even argue about this thing with me. No offense but you truly don't know what you're talking about. Go and check altcoins board, you'll definitely find a few campaigns by Hhampuz. Maybe not currently active, but not too old to find.

Is there such thing of a third party that would rate the quality of altcoins?  That space that is kind of the wild wild west could benefit from a third party.   Something that would both encourage quality, and also act to sort out low quality / scams from the projects that have real merit behind them.  Maybe that exists.  Maybe that is this forum?

Ok, seems I hit the nerve lol

Obviously, this topic is not as important to me as it is to you, but that is ok Cheesy

He said BM's in both cases in general, he did not say all BM's, and I mentioned that in my response.  Also I know that they do manage some altcoin projects, but most of their work is related to BTC and I'm pretty sure that there is not many people on this forum that would consider neither of them as an altocoin bounty managers, like some other managers that deal with altcoins almost exclusively.

I though that was pretty obvious, at least it is to me.

And I'm not interested in dragging this in @fillippone post, or anywhere else. If you feel attacked by my response, that is up to you and I'm okay with that. You are right if you look it at it from your angle, as I'm also right from my angle.I have nothing personal or ego related involved in this.

Cheers

No, but it became quite important to me to make you know that these 2 managers, at some point of time, have managed altcoin campaigns and both do manage such campaigns from time to time.

Still got me wrong, not the topic but that specific part of the topic.

Even I was not, and am not interested in flooding this thread with some nonsensical debate which will derail the motive of this thread, really doesn't want that. If I made you feel offended by any means, sorry about that dude. I just wanted to make my point clear, no offense. Smiley

And sorry @fillippone for this debate, this one's my last comment of that particular topic and I won't write here anything unless it's of any use to this thread (but not this topic, for sure).

Thanks CryptoViking for your ease of understanding of my comment. Stedsm, I also understand your perspective on the issue. However, I was strictly thinking of managers who are only involved in managing bounties. Perhaps I should have used the word "few or some" as prefix to make a case for exceptional bounty managers therein (though I have yet to find any.) Going forward, I don't think anyone will be right to refer to Yahoo or Hhampuz as Bounty Managers (even if they may have managed one or two bounties in the past). Most of us here know them as reputable BTC-paying Signature managers and we can't take that away from them. It didn't even cross my mind that anyone would tag them as BMs.

Now guys, let's move on. There is no point quarrelling over that 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨

Much appreciated, that was my intention indeed to shed some light and make a distinction between altcoin BM's and reputable BM's as I thought that @Stedsm didn't fully understand what you were aiming at and he thought I didn't understand something he meant  hehe

Anyway no harm done, we all had good intentions, just didn't use clear enough phrasing and not enough specific words when expressing our thoughts Cheesy

@Stedsm and I sorted it all out in only 1 PM and we are cool and are aware that nobody had no ill intent Cheesy

I did post the below message as a kind of light hearted/fun gesture/response, but I pulled it back (deleted it) after I had posted it (maybe within about a minute or two after I had posted it) because I thought that I may have gone a bit too far in my own making light (or funzies) out of the mini-drama situation.

Personally, I don't mind a bit of a back and forth battle of ideas and differences of opinions regarding substantive ideas or even different opinions about the intentions and past practices of other members, here and there.  Sometimes we can learn from those kinds of vigorous back and forth battles, but sometimes the tone and the intentions might get lost within the posts, and some members do have more troubles with English, too... or even making sure that they put reasonable disclaimers in their posts from time to time - but the odds are quite high that peeps are going to get misunderstood from time to time when we are dealing with written format (that we might not have if we were meeting at a table at a bar - or maybe the misunderstandings would be different if we were at a bar because we might each be trying to impress/or pick up on the waitress.. and then get in a fight over that).... but in the end, I believe that it is more than o.k. to even vigorously disagree with other members without having to take matters too personally.

Thanks CryptoViking for your ease of understanding of my comment. Stedsm, I also understand your perspective on the issue. Since you did not disclaim any of your clarification comment with "#nohomo", I presume you meant that #withhomo.   Wink   #nohomo

By the way, to me, having fun with the "#nohomo" disclaimer is not necessarily meant to be taken literally or even necessary to assign genders to it or even taking any kind of position in regards to homosexuality.  It is just maybe another way of attempting to light-heartedly say that "I am not getting too emotionally attached to you" in regard to the back and forth (or what I had just said in my post).

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Hey mate, no, please don't get me wrong when I mentioned your comment here as it was just used as an example to explain in the next part of that same comment where Mpamaegbu related us in the same way, but seriously speaking, I never took that comment seriously hehe. Smiley I've got a very soft side and only get harder when I believe something's wrong from my point of view (yours was never in that "wrong" category" as I knew it was just for fun  Cheesy). After all, we all should have some fun loving moments from time to time, I never needed any explanation from you seriously, I know you didn't mean it. Wink

The discussion has been getting away from OP. LOL

Achievement. Is considered as the fruit to hard labor. It can speak itself how one was able to manage despite of needs that arises during the making. For me, it will not be easy for OP it was still not easy but manage to get that achievement.

And for this, I would like to congratulate OP, It seems that the description of you as nerd, doctorate and genius fits to describe you.

You too are qualified already to become legendary and just a little approve from the admin then everything will going to change especially on your rank.

HERO member for now Legendary Later! Congratulations!

Being helpful enough to other members by just giving friendly or professional advice, or post something that catches the interest of the community would give us more merits. Quality posts really matter in this forum. At first, I was pissed off with the merit system because I could have been a Hero member by then.

After that, I finally understand why because the forum needs to be cleaned from low quality and spammy posters only just to get that rank. But for me, merit is just a bonus. What really matters for me is that helping others by giving them great advice satisfies me enough. Not in a rush to rank up here. I’m just happy on what I’ve been doing here, to keep contributing quality information and advice to the Bitcointalk community.

Congratulations to you man! You deserve it! Newbies, beginners and inexperienced members are going to learn a lot from this thread alone. Cheers!

Maybe I'm late but congratulations to you. Sorry, it looks like the tread has been inactive for a long time, but hopefully my comment is not deleted. It seems I need to learn from you about motivation and knowledge about this forum. Several months I could not be much active in this forum. At the moment I don't seem to have any thoughts of making a new topic and even commenting I need to think about it. My mind is like a dead end. Grin

WOW! I was amazed with the way you managed to monitored the dates when all your merits had given. The huge amounts of merits that you have right now are quite overwhelming. And it only showed how useful your ideas here in the forum and how huge you contributed along with your crypto journey. I was inspired with your brilliant mind. Congratulations!

This is actually brilliant, firstly doing all the research and compiling data and than using it to earn merit to ultimately create a guide for beginners and earn merit on it for the informative aspect of it! Well played man
