Hi, I just created https://progpow.pro where everyone can submit and check benchmarks for ProgPow mining.

Thanks for creating this database. I got my basement full of old unused Radeon R9 280X and some R9 290 and would like to know the hashrate of them in case ETH decides to fork to this new mining algo.

So far there is an entry for the Radeon 7950 however it only hashes at 2MH/s. Wondering if the 7970/280X or the R9 290 will perform better. The RX 470 seems fair compared to the higher end 1080Ti or the VEGA, however really hope we get a performance boost on the Tahiti and Hawaii GPUs.

So if anyone has any R9 280X or R9 290 running on ProgPOW please submit your hash rates.

That 7950 was submitted by me, I use that card for testing. Will try different clocks on core & memory, if hashrate improves I'll submit it.

BCI hash-rates won't exactly equal ETH ProgPoW hashrates. this is because ETH ProgPoW includes a random number generator every 50 blocks. Hashrate variance is about 7% on Eth ProgPoW. Much more tuning has to be done for ProgPoW.

Any of those with AMD cards try --cl-local-work=256
With Nvidia try --cuda-block-size 320

That should give some hashrate increases

I have not tried Eth Testnet, but I believe those parameters should help there as well as for mining BCI.

If zcash goes ahead with ProgPow too, it's going to be very interesting.

using simplemining

4 vega 56 using  windows 10 = 54  that comes to 13.5 a card


1 rx 580 using windows 10 = 5.67 which is 5.67 a card

these are at the pool numbers

I have found at the pool numbers run lower then  the gui reads


the 1080tis are clocked as follows:

six  100 core 150 ram 200 watts  these are evga hybrids and msi hybrids with built in water cooling

two 100 core 150 ram 175 watts  these are nvidia founders with blower motors  they do less hash due to power setting

the 4 vegas :

3 are MSI Video Card Radeon RX Vega 56 Air Boost 8G OC

Those numbers seem extremely low, what are you settings and miner? I assume these are for ProgPoW BCI? RX580 should do about 9mh-10mh/s If you use MODDED BIOs, for ETH-hash you will see suffered hashrates because timings for ProgPoW are different. Stock BIOs is recommended for RX400/500 series.

I suggest you add power consumption to the database. It would be helpful to see how each GPU reacts to ProgPow.

There is a "TDP" field to submit power draw in watts. Yet, it is up to those who submit to specify that.

For those benchmarking using ethminer, here is the sintax as suggested by Andrea Lanfranchi:

ethminer -M blocknumber -A progpow --diff 5 --HWMON 2

Example: ethminer -M 7770000 -A progpow --diff 5 --HWMON 2


Note: there is hashrate variance of +-10% among different periods (every 50 blocks) on ETH's ProgPoW.

ya thats the problem with people hosting their own sites
within 1-4 years they go down, sometimes permanently, this forum has literally 1000's of these external 404 pages :/
i wish everyone just made their list here on this forum, that's kinda what it's best for  haha
then the list is here forever,alot of people coulda used these #'s right now lol
