According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

You guys that have a lot experience must be know the sign of scam project..
Are you asking how to avoid scam projects you want to invest in or how to avoid scam bounties to participate in? Anyhow both questions can be reduced to more or less the same requirements. Read the whitepaper, check the team members, inspect the website, beware of unrealistic promises or rewards. With bounties, ensure the bounty manager is not a newbie but a higher ranked member with earned merits and positive trust. If you follow these steps you can diminish the chance of being tricked, but you can never be one hundred percent sure.

It is difficult to know that. I have a proposal. You can view ICO review by ICOdrops.
I observed a long time and found that the project is rated on ICOdrops have a relatively high likelihood of success.

You don't strike me as the type of guy who'd recognize a profitable non-scam from a non-profitable non-scam. I'd first focus on that.
Otherwise as long as the team behind the project is public, uses real linkedin profiles and attends conferences so you're 100% sure they can be held liable if they scam - you're in safe hands. But without the knowledge to actually know how to pick investment opportunities you'll lose money.

There are too many topics about knowing what are the scam altcoin project. You should use the search of the forum and just enter the keyword of what you are looking at like 'scam project'.

You can also check the 'Scam Accusations' board to manually check the reports on what are the potential scam altcoin project. But it's also good if you have a way to determine it by doing research by knowing the team behind it.

There are many ways to identify a scam altcoin project  but the best and the sure way is doing background on the teams involved in the project and checking is their pictures was genuine and not taken from picture site like flicker etc. But, you're not good in do the background check research, you can check out Icoethics scammed project list or asking him for help on the particular project you're interested in.

I would strongly suggest to take a look form time to time in "SCAM accusations" section of the forum:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0   where the  known and proven scams are exposed. This section is updated frequently as there are people that are really engaged on this to help crypto community to avoid been scammed!

With more established projects it is easier to tell, because the more time passes the harder it is to fake it. With ICOs for example it is much tougher, you have to be diligent and look in to things. If something doesn't add up, call the project developer's out on it and see if they can offer a believable explanation.

Its not that easy to see that sign because some projects are created professionally so as an investors, its your job to make sure that you are in the right projecs, in short you have to study everything about that ICO, especially right now where its too risky to invest on that.

It must have a lot of weird things. The scam project will not create an MVP to proves how competence the team to create a beta before it will be started to build the real product.
There's no active chat in the telegram group which filled by a lot of bots.

It is really hard to determine which project is a scam or not. Well yes DYOR may reduce the risk but still you will only know once the sale is over or even when it hits exchange/s you will see orders from devs.

I do not consider a project without a product at all. For me, white paper and the team is not an indicator, and I see fraudsters in everyone. And now it is all the more necessary to control the release of all new ones, so that novices do not fall for these tricks and then do not leave at all.

it is very difficult to determine the current scam project because all of them have almost perfect whitepaper websites like real projects and for that I often see teams and also see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 because there are always updates to project discussions scam there

It's hard to find a sign on every fraud project, they almost make the project look perfect and succeed. But you don't need to worry, because there are still many altcoins that are available and already have their own products, always careful and active to discuss here.

I observed a long time and found that the project is rated on ICOdrops have a relatively high likelihood of success.
I also follow the ICOdrop to get the information about legit & verified ICOs & as far as I know ICOdrop does not hesitate to delist listed ICO who does not co-operate for verification.
OP Read this article this will help you to differentiate between good & Scam ICOs in depth & what points to be taken care for the research.

I am holding a bag of useless illiquid tokens. So do millions of other people in our community. We must do something about it! So I decided to Pick up the gauntlet. I’m having meetings with projects leaders, big companies, and trading platform, trying to find the best solution for all of us. Would love to hear your situation, thoughts, and ideas.

before I join the bounties I always check the background of the team, check their social medias, their products that's what I do. Well it's really difficult to know which ICO are scam because some of them looks legit and looks promising, but in the end they ran out with your money

Before  you invest your money on any coin, please find out as many details as possible about the team and their experience. Check out what technology are they using, what is new in the system it is offering and what is the market demand for it. Other than those option, any projects are scam because they want to make money only.
