I signed up tonight and just made my first deposit. However my deposit was sent in BTC and then it gets credited in USD?

You can buy bitcoin directly on binance with your credit card since January-2019. From my own calculations, I calculated their fee as %6. (right now the price is $7900, they charge you $8388 for 1 btc.)

Compared to a scam service like changelly (which charges you $9500 for 1 btc rn) %6 fee is godsend.
