Always good to see forgotten players like Imam-ul-Haq among the runs again. He is just 30 years old, but his career is all but over. The last time he played in PSL was in 2020, and the last time he represented Pakistan in T20I format was long back, in 2019. He has been branded as a test player not suitable for limited overs cricket, and has been excluded from this format for quite some time. During the match against Karachi Region Blues, he scored 71 from 40 balls. One single innings may not make it possible for him to get into the PSL, but repeated performances can get attention from important people.

It is sad that Imam-ul-Haq is being ignored yet he is still in his best years but his latest play of 71 runs off 40 balls shows that he could fit into busy modern T20 cricket. His missing in major leagues since 2020 could maybe be blamed on opinion of people about his style and not lack of skill to play since his high average in other styles shows he is very steady player.
And you are right Imam can save his career just like other top level batters who had managed to change their game in the same way. Single good game is very good start, yet he must do such shows of high scoring couple of times more.

Hyped for IPL 2026 which is going to start in a few weeks. I guess the biggest question is if Samson can maintain his epic form after getting traded to CSK in this new season while RR got 2 great players(Jaddu and Curran) in return implying a mutually beneficial deal.

I hope this year will finally be the year when the zero win curse breaks for Punjab or Delhi. Excited!

He set the world cup on fire. But still, I would rate Samson as one of the most over-rated cricketers in India at this point. IMO, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan are much more consistent. Even during his time at Rajasthan Royals, Samson wasn't able to do much. Now CSK hopes that he will be able to win the trophy for them. And they are exchanging two of their best players (Jadeja and Curran), so that Samson can play for them. And this can easily backfire upon them. Already they have to deal with the burden of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who refuses to retire and eat up one position in the XI.

Sam Curran is decent but nothing game changing, and fwiw be should be playing somewhere up preferably at number 3 instead of at lower middle order, he can't bat aggressive dunno why he bats where he does ( his batting tanked tho).

Good thing about sam curran is that he's not tom curran. He also managed to get MOT in ICC t-20 wc, which helped and stock went up for a season but in IPL context he's consider valuable because of all rounder tag.

Combining his trade with jadeja, it was an expensive one but RR rightly feel good about it if you look at what they bring at table. Even in worse day this duo will give minimum 6 overs and gives a assurance of deep batting at least on paper.

This season CSK is mixed bag.

In batting they have brevis, Mhatre and dube ji along with rutu and probably sanju as opener in case Mhatre going 1 down. Add dhoni for just vibes and sometimes can give handy runs in backend. Miya sarfu is also there and he seems to be good knick but jury is still out for him in T-20.

Bowling looks decent to me if Henry, Akiel and noor starting in the playing XI. Not a big fan of overton.

Lahore Region team set big target 210 runs in 20 overs by losing 4 wickets. Abdullah batsmen batted so well from Sialkot Region team and he made brilliant half century 57 runs in 31 balls and hitted six 4s and three 6s. Ahsan remained not out and his contribution was also very helpful and he scored 47 runs in 17 balls and hitted five 4s and three 6s. Lahore Region did not complete tarand lost this National T20 Cup series by big margin 110 runs. Usama bowler took down 6 wickets in 3.2 overs and gave 8 runs.

Congratulations Sialkot Region team won one sided game and won by big margin.

Although I have very little knowledge about his game, looking at his athletic stats, you can definitely get some idea of how a player can perform or how successful his career is.

And wherever our emotions may be, if a player does not perform well physically or based on his performance, then it is natural that no intelligent cricket management will ever give him a place in the national team. We have seen this in many cricket teams, and perhaps he is in that place too.

Two matches from different groups of National T20 Cup competition finished today in which first match was finished among Sialkot Region and Lahore Region Blues squads and in second match, Multan Region and Karachi Region Blues squad were participated. In this Multan Region against Karachi Region Blues match, Multan Region squad was started match first with strong batting performance and batters were managed to collect 201 scores as a defending after playing 20 overs inning. Imam-ul-Haq was top scorer and top performer of this match and he really played wonderful inning and he collected 71 scores off 40 deliveries. Karachi Region squad was unable to defeat Multan Region squad and fell short with 74 scores. Arafat Minhas and Muhammad Ismail bowler played crucial role in getting victory and both bowler picked up 2 and 3 wickets respectively.

This was the National T20 Cup between Sialkot Region and Lahore Region Blue.Four players from my Sialkot team were out and they set a target of 210 run in 20 over, which Lahore team had to chase, but they could not even make half. Abdullah Shafiq scored 57 run and the rest of them achieved this target together.Talking about the Lahore team, I don't know what pressure their team was under whether it was their carelessness or lack of practice, forced them to lose this match and they solved the problem in 14 overs and all the players were out. If all the players had been out, they could have completed it, but still they had to bat quite well. The Sialkot team has played the first two match in which they got two PTS points, losing to Lahore. Now it has become clear that the Lahore team is quite weaker than the Sialkot Region team, which makes them  Requires a lot of hard work and practice.

As far as pcb circuit is concerned, nepotism in selections be it team or any other recruiting. It's never an allegation or alleged incident but fact and it's famously called parchi system.

If you have connection or daddy has influence in Pakistan, you are guaranteed to have a first shot. There was even one bizzare incident that big doner of some team got his son captaincy in domestic.

Multan Region vs Karachi Region Blue

Multan Region secured big 74 runs win against Karachi Region Blues in National T20 Cup where they scored powerful 201 runs. Captain Imam-ul-Haq led way with fast 71 runs, and bowlers, especially Mohammad Ismail who got three wickets, did excellent job defending total. Karachi Blues struggled to keep up despite quick 43 runs from Usman Khan, and they were all bowled out for only 127 runs and they played almost 16 overs. This impressive performance has moved Multan Region to top of Group B, putting them in great position to reach semi finals.

Karachi Region Blues decided to field first which led to their loss. They should have batted first so that they could have played fearlessly and therefore scored more runs but they did not do so. Multan got the opportunity to bat first and they took advantage of this opportunity and set a target of 201 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Imam-ul-Haq scored 71 runs and supporting him, Mohammad Naeem scored 39 runs, which increased his team's score and in addition, Bismillah Khan scored 34 runs and in comparison Usman Khan scored 43 runs from the Karachi Region Blues team and supporting him, Ahsan Ali scored 20 runs. Multan's bowlers bowled very well, out of which Mohammad Ismail took 3 wickets and Arafat Minhas took 2 wickets. In this match, the Player of the Match was given to Imam-ul-Haq. Who scored 71 runs and Multan won the match by 74 runs which was a good performance which they have achieved through their hard work

Looking at kiwis squad, only Santner looks like a viable option; Philips, Mitchel doesn't look anywhere close to being a captainship material imo. If anything, Santner should be improving his captain skills.

90-95% south African squad visiting for this series watched their t-20 wc campaign as fans so don't think they'd have some sort of revenge fantasy.

New Zealand already has split captaincy ( white ball and red ball) maybe they don't want 3 different captain of 3 formats and we have odi wc in late 2027.
