The Hyderabad Kingsmen wins a thriller victory over Islamabad United winning by just two runs in a playoff. Hyderabad set a target of 187 runs finishing their 20 overs at 186/5. In a dramatic chase that went down to the final ball  Islamabad United fell short finishing on 184/7.

Islamabad United lost by just 2 runs. I thought they would win. But due to Hunain Shah's excellent bowling in the last over, Islamabad could not win the match. Islamabad needed only 6 runs to win in the last over. But Hunain Shah gave away only 3 runs in the last over.

Islamabad batted at a target of 187 runs. Captain Shadab Khan's innings was the most annoying. Shadab's collection was only 22 runs in 24 balls. Chris Green's innings of 21 runs in 9 balls put Islamabad in control of the match. If Islamabad could have batted a little better in the last over, it would have ensured victory. It was completely their misfortune.

A big achievement for Hyderabad Kingsmen in the first season, defeating Islamabad United to qualify for the final was not easy at all. The match was full of excitement till the last ball. When 4 runs were needed to win in the last 1 ball, Islamabad batsman Chris Green could add only 1 run. The main reason for Islamabad United's defeat was the slow batting of Devon Conway and Shadab Khan. If they could have been a little more aggressive, then maybe Islamabad United would not have been under pressure towards the end. However, the situation at that time was also different.

Hyderabad go to final, in this match Hyderabad Kings played first and posted 185 target for 5 wickets. Batting line was quite well, Labuschagne and Saim Ayub both gave solid start to the game. Usman Khan was the standout player hit 61 runs. Islamabad United came for their turn, Devon Conway started the innings. The start of the innings was not impressive till the first ten overs. But after that Mark Chapman and Haider Ali patnership stabilize the game. After struggling a lot Islamabad team was close to the game. Situation became nervous at that moment when Islamabad need 6 runs to win on 6 balls. That's truly nail biting moment of the match. Audience of both side was very curious about the results. But Hyderabad Kings fought hard for the win. And finally succeed to stopped  the Islamabad United. And celebrated well deserved victory today.

Maaz Sadaqat could not do anything in this crucial game and Saim have to take responsibility in this match if they want to qualify for the final because they have to dominate in this match and then there will be chances of that team to win in this match.

Peshawar Zalmi are on the finals and they have many days to prepare, already they are on prime mood so it is for sure the trophy is coming home for Peshawar Zalmi, only two teams are left that may face Zalmi in finals including Islamabad United or Hyderabad Kingsmen, Peshawar Zalmi be like; better luck for the dead ones, they are looking for competition, anybody got some ? So yesterday there was a really tough match between Islamabad Uniteds and Hyderabad Kingsmen. They both played really well. Hyderabad Kingsmen gave 187 runs target and Usman Khan played really well and made a good contribution in that total with 61 runs on 30 balls. Islamabad Uniteds tried well. When batting team is on brink of victory, it is difficult to have bowler who retards only 6 runs in last over of T20 match. It was not matter of talent on part of Hunain Shah but pure exhibition of mental nerves.
I think truth behind this was not overall score, but fact that execution of lower order was not worked out by Islamabad United. When your run a ball is required, in last over, bowler has all pressure on him. Variations of block hole and slower ball were used to its full advantage by Hunain Shah to play on desperation of the batsmen. It just proves that however many runs you may take during middle overs, when it comes to pressure of the death overs you have no hope to keep bat in hand and game turns around within few seconds.

At the last over of the power play, Akif Javed made a big dismissal, before Hyderabad Kingsmen were dominating the whole power play but in the last over, he did very bad gave 16 runs, but at the same time, the captain believed him because of his good spell earlier, he also got a single wicket before. Maybe Akif Javed can't find the rhythm and lost his run up as well because he did back-to-back three overs and of course got tired.

However the hero of the day was Hunain Shah as he saved the game for his team.

Since BAN won the 1st match and the 2nd match was abandoned due to rain, if NZ can win, the series will be tied 1-1. The weather is not good today too so there is a possibility of rain. Like the previous match, Islamabad won the toss and decided to bowl first. When the pitch is good, it would have been better to bat first. Chasing always adds a bit more pressure. Despite losing the first wicket, Hyderabad didn't have any problem batting first. Even though they lost a few wickets in the middle, Usman Khan and Perera's 101-run partnership with just 52 balls helped Hyderabad to post a very good total of 186. Chasing the total of 187, Islamabad lost wickets at intervals, but in the later part of the innings Chapman, Haider Ali, and Green's good hitting helped them to come very close to winning the match. But Hunain Shah's brilliant last over got the job done for Hyderabad.
