Samson again proved that he can win some matches single-handedly but he is not someone who is a bankable player for the season, and Rutu isn't doing anything in the opening either. ^ To check who could be in I was researching GT players and came across Jayant Yadav, thought he was some uncapped player but goodness me, he's veteran of the game. FWIW, I like his bowling action, looks so pleasing with that pause just before releasing the ball.

GT is actually quite proactive this season with moving from players who are not contributing enough. So Arshad Khan being left out would not surprising at all. May be they bring extra spin option. DC will not reach the 4th position because the maximum they can go is 14 points, assuming they win against KKR, but their NNR is like -0.8, which is really damaged so they might need to win the game by 300 runs or something like that.

GT sealed their spot even if SRH win they need to win by a huge NNR to go over GT that is not possible either.

So SRH will play the eliminator along with someone from KKR/RR in my opinion.

RCB, GT, Sunrisers Hyderabad, these three teams have already qualified for the playoffs and the rest of the teams will be eliminated as usual and only one team will qualify for the playoffs. But today Chennai Super Kings has been eliminated and later Kolkata Knight Riders or DC or RR or Punjab Kings will qualify only one of them and the rest will be eliminated. But I think Punjab Kings and RR will qualify any of these two teams.

Stranger things have happened in the IPL which is why I wouldn't jump the gun that easily. DC still has a shot, but a miracle is required as you stated while SRH has a decent chance at finishing in the top 2 if they somehow manage to obliterate RCB in their match.

4th spot should go to Punjab or RR depending on whether they win or lose their upcoming matches and NRR will come into play too. KKR also need a mini miracle.

I think batting and bowling powers of both teams are well equalised and that is why I feel they will be favourites to win trophy. Fact that there are two players as far as batters side is concerned who have surpassed the 600 run mark gives an incredible individual performance while having strike bowler like Rabada who has picked 24 wickets would give perfect defensive structure. While runs may give you victories in your matches, good caliber bowling unit gives you victories in tournaments. Titans have got everything right this season, both up front and on backs and will appear very dangerous in final stages.

Yeah, the problem comes from the toss, it is common and basic sense, even if there's not a cricket person who just knows how to take pitch advantage, surely go to bat first, but nonsensical decision. Well, now leave this thing; let's talk about why they weren't focusing on building a partnership when they came in for the second innings.

Gujarat openers was so brilliant in this game and both gives a very positive and solid start to the team by putting aggressive half centuries and in middle order Josh Butler was also in high aggressive mod and played a very aggressive knock tonight and Gujarat ends the innings by giving a huge target to Chennai. CSK openers have the ability to chase this huge target but the Gujarat bowlers also in good form and the top of order of Chennai completely fails to put a required start for the team but in middle order the man who stables the innings by showing his power hitting skills was Shivum Dhube and he was so brilliant but the required run rate was so high so Chennai don't chase it
