They had some of the best players during that period and they were forced to relocate to other countries. If you drain a majority of a generation of talent to other countries, it will have an effect on the pool you can pick.

Afghanistan players have a national pride, even though the political situation is not that great either. Some are relocating to GCC countries, but the majority of the talent stays committed and plays for the national team.

The main point I want to make is that funds alone will not easily recover the grassroots talent pipeline that they drained for over a decade. They completely destroyed their cricket structure during that period through political interference, essentially removing every white person who held any position of authority.

Then again, this was just a T20 series. Look at how they performed in their last T20 World Cup—they put up some great performances and were actually able to defeat both Australia and Sri Lanka.

Tri Nation tournament (SA, ZIM and NAm) has now come to finish with final match also being played. ZIM were squad that faced SA squad in final battle and you were right that more was expected from Nam. After their first victory, they faced 3 consecutive defeat which ruled them out of final. SA squad clearly had strongest squad in this tournament losing only one match while comfortably defeating their opponent in almost every other match.

SA gained advantage in final by posting big total which boosted their confidence while ZIM's confidence dropped and burden on them increased. If we look at ZIm inning, their top order batters who normally build hope for squad with their ability to stay at crease kept losing their wicket one after another in this match. But when the Zimbabwe team came to chase the run they lost back to back wickets and felt that they had not set planned and Strategy for that. So due to poor performance they could not won the match dismissed all team in 18 overs at 157 runs.

Sri Lanka tour of England, tour match

This game was played between SL and ENG. Sri Lanka batted first and made 117 run target. Their batting was not very strong in this game as Eng bowlers bowled well and put lot of pressure on them. Tharindu Ratnayake was top scorer for SL with 48 runs but he also lost his wicket later. Eng played very well while chasing runs. Tom Banton played important role and helped his team move toward target and made 56. Eng team lost only 1 wicket and chased down all runs in only 7 over. It was very strong performance from Eng as they comfortably defeated SL and made impressive record in match.
