That's right, even though the market conditions are in the worst condition and the price is always decreasing, I think bitcoin will remain the most popular and become number one because there are so many people who have confidence and optimism in bitcoin.

Cryptocurrencies have been started from bitcoins so a major portion of the community trusts bitcoins and support it. Bitcoins also have gained a major demand in the upcoming markets which will keep the price increasing in the future. Currently the markets are not really going that good but we can expect something good in the upcoming future.
Bitcoins will always be the top cryptocurrency no matter what the situations be because 2009 was the start for everything when satoshi started the circulation of bitcoins.

yes bitcoin is the most popular crypto currency bcz most people dont know about other crypto and you know there are a lot of fud also promoting bitcoin to public level.some people knows about eth,ltc and others but bitcoin is still popular one.

I don't think so, bitcoin still the most popular than the other coins although the price now is lower than $4000. Soon people will realize that bitcoin will rise again and they need to buy more bitcoin. But that is only for people who can think about the bitcoin value that will give them a big profit in the future. So far, people only think that bitcoin cannot rise and it's hard to see the higher price in the short-time, but if they can think about the long-term, they will prepare by buying bitcoin from now on.

Just a few corrections: Bitcoin reached $19++ at the end of 2017. And it's lowest point in the last year or so is $3100-$3200. And obviously, bitcoin still dominates and remain the top cryptocurrency despite the bearish season extending for more than a year now.

It still the number 1 because its touted as a investment, store of value, although still not recognized as payment system, people can still used it to purchase things online.

The bearish market situation is normal in the Crypto Currency industry and it happened multiple times during the ten years of Bitcoin's existence. There is nothing like bitcoin. Altcoins wants to overthrown btc but the fact couldn't be cover up that still bitcoin is the most interesting and the most popular coin in crypto place. There is no such thing like bitcoin value. Could you imagine one coin is equal to 3k dollar? What valuable the coin is in our time. This is amazing right!

Most coins have as a goal to try to replace bitcoin but when you see their code and you realize that they have copied most of the code of bitcoin then you know those coins are just scams or the developers behind those projects have no idea what they are talking about, so I will not worry too much about altcoins since most of them have never being a threat to bitcoin, even some of the best projects in the market that are recognized by the community like ethereum are not even close to surpassing bitcoin.

Anyway, we cannot deny that when the price of bitcoin crashes many people think that bitcoin is dead.
