It's not really hodling for that long, for some reason, it is for the love of the project, and on another note, it is as a result of trying to recoop losses made in the bearish trend.

Crypto keeps on the bearish pattern no matter what, if there is a hodler right here from 2017 until now, you should be appreciated and get an achievement because you are doing the right thing as a hodler! Being a hodler means you supporting the coin, didn't you?
I am a hodler but only for short term because I need funds for my own and family's needs. I can't wait for too long as I I am a less fortunate individual that needs money but if I am a wealthy person I think I am able to hodl for long term purposes for a much better result in the future. Supporting a coin is sometimes risky since we have different  strategies and beliefs depending on what coins we had.

BIG WINNER!

I definitely trust holding our investment for long term investment because from last few years I'm getting profit from holding so after some years your investment today will be more profitable so I will definitely support holding the currency for long time is good for us.

i already stopped hodling tokens since the emergence of this bear market, it is quite a difficult trend to handle to be honest, i have lost while hodling
But i think there are other hodlers, who can be adamant and full of courage.

I must say I am one of them. May I know your plans if you want to buy back any time soon? I hope you did not sell everything yet as prices starts to give good signs.

I think I can be considered a hodler. I am not keeping ALL my money in crypto in there but I try to earn as much as I can from crypto and keep some of it there and some of it I cash out because you know... I need to eat? So I can still be considered a hodler since I don't cash out all of my coins.

I think not cashing out is a big part of bitcoin community, we need to make sure bitcoins always stay in our wallets and only used to buy stuff and not trade for fiat. I do not understand people who trade for fiat and so forth without a need, if you need the money yeah it makes sense but if you are doing it just for profit then it makes no sense since bitcoin is itself money like dollar is and I would rather see a world where I can spend bitcoin wherever I go instead of a world bitcoin worth a lot.

I am a holder because I believe in a long term investment. since December 2017 I have been holding my coins although I sometimes feel bad about the whole thing but will still hold for better days.

it is not known when these better days will come. so you need to look for a strategy through which you can earn even on such days

I keep all the coins and did not sell anything. It is already too late to do this, it is better to just postpone everything for a couple of months and not remember. Return as soon as growth begins

I believe this is not a form of jest? Those who have decided to hold, only did that to avoid selling at loss. I personally believe that inasmuch as I am still holding my coin, even if it plummets in the market and I do not sell at that lower price, then it means I have not lost.
Then every holder should try as much as possible to trade, so that your loses can be covered through your gains in trading.

I've held all through 2017 and I'm in profit, but that's one of the few cryptos that actually has risen this year(and is on top 100).
majority of coins including many of those I held at some point during 2017 has dropped lots in usd value,
and doubtful if they'll ever rise again?

Bitcoin keep going down and very soon it will began to rise again.  I and one of strong holders of bitcoin and some tokens and though everything are in red now I am not afraid of investing into it.  Those that think that bitcoin is not going to recover in future has not be in this market for long.

With experience you can be ascertain that it worth holding no matter how long, the future is always near, hopefully the bull run will make us for get the long bearish market trend we experience in 2018. ones the bull run commence you can be sure viable token will pump.

Yeah, right. After all, if you don't believe in the coin, it makes no sense to keep it. I think that only wealthy people can afford the HODL, because those who did not have time to earn on the growth of crypto in 2017 are now trying very hard to work to have at least something.

Present! I'm still holding on my tokens ever since for some reasons. First, because of the bearish market the market value of my tokens were still way below of my set price for selling. Honestly speaking, i am not aiming for a sky-high price but a value that i think will correspond to the hard work i've put to acquire those tokens. I am surely wishing for a sufficient income. Second is, i do not have the know-hows in trading seriously. And since were still bearish, i'm taking that advantage in learning even the basics of it. If suddenly the market presents a different situation, i'll be relying on the trading skills of my nephews.

Holding is cool but that's when you are holding coins belonging to projects that worth it, and also luck. Sometimes you hold coins with unique project and they end up being crappie due to mismanagement or funding issues. Examples include EEE which recently announced they are putting an end to their project, they couldn't get listed on CMC due to poor trading volumes. Please before going for long term hold, try to know the team's strength and project backings.

I am very sorry for those people who have been holding their coins since 2017 and are still hoping to sell them at a good price. After all, most of them had the opportunity to sell their coins at good prices, but they did not.

I like to hold my coins and work for a long-term buy and hold strategy, some I have been forced into holding during the 2018 Bear but I have also take the opportunity to average down wherever possible leaving me with no coins that would need to return to the ATH just to break even.
