Five days ago, I created topic Merit Backscratchers: who scratched who's back the most?:

OgNasty gave me the suggestion to make a post who "the biggest merit backscratchers" are. Merit backscratchers are defined as users who give each other the most Merit

I came up with this:

I was thinking of making another list: Merit Backstabbers: who stabbed who in the back most, by having the largest difference between received and sent Merit to one person

Example: I stabbed suchmoon in the back for about 140 Merit

I nearly gave the Hunter 5 merits for that post, but then I decided to give them to Foxpup as part of the Jet Cash "save the pup" campaign. Actually it was for a post in a thread where I had made a few contributions, and I hadn't revisited it to see his post. I really need to stop my hit and run posting, and continue with some of the discussions.

Now I wonder if I can find a foxy vixen for the pup - This is the closest I can get to a fox post, it's actually a fox squirrel -

this has always been a question in mind - are we somehow morally obligated to return merit to those who merit out posts? this might not be the case with merit sources, but the other members who have small number of sMerit to be sent, it is a good question, assuming i have a single sMerit, and i see 2 good posts (one by a member who gave me merit), i usually feel like i should return the "favor",even if their posts is slightly less deserving.

No one owes anything to anyone. I actually don’t merit suchmoon just because I want to save my sMerits for possible deserving low-rank users (specially those in my local board). I would need a couple hundred sMerits to give suchmoon and other top users what they really deserve for many of their posts.

I kind of figured I'd be up there on the list with Foxpup.  No idea why he merits so many of my posts, but I rarely see many of his in the places I hang out.  He obviously reads Meta, but apparently doesn't post there much.  Then again, if I were to give him a lot of merits I'd for sure get accused of merit swapping, and some people already think the top merit earners and givers are only concerned with circulating it amongst themselves.

And man...Foxpup must have one hell of a sMerit allowance in order to give out as many as he does.  It's no wonder he's gotten stabbed multiple times on this list.
