By that time I wasn't aware about bitcoin, another thing it was provided as a giveaway during those days. In specific most of the early adopters without knowing about it made investment while very few knew about the use case and made investments. None could've thought it would reach to such a level. In an article read about an early adopter selling when the price reached $100, now he felt of missing a big profit.

those investors at that time did not care about the price of bitcoin and even only considered bitcoin as one of the currencies that could not have an expensive sale value and many doubted its development, and now many are sorry for not buying when the price of bitcoin is very cheap. be happy for the person who bought bitcoin in 2008 and sold it when the price could be above $18k.

Honestly people feel numb about economic crisis if you ask me. 2008 was a horrible year and 2009 was a bit the same specially at the start, it was about September or so when the crisis really hit if I am not remembering that wrong and 2009 continued to be horrible at the early days as well because of the late 2008 crisis. However just because we had seen those days and all of us felt the consequences of what banks did (still weird to think banks did a mistake and whole world paid for it) doesn't mean we will feel the same next time it happens.

If you look at the stock market drop that happened late last year you can see that they were quite similar at affect and it really hurt the whole world again but this time we were so numb that people didn't even reacted that much to it.

That is just an illustration because that year was the starting point for the emergence of Bitcoin, and people who experienced that period now certainly have gained a lot of benefits, so 10 years later we can also feel the same

before I'm in bitcoin for 2 years. so in 2008-2009 I'm not yet very aware but in my presence here I am getting stronger now facing life's challenges especially today, and as I know in 2008 the life of bitcoin crystals was a lot better now than most great value and their investment has been a success, so it's a great model for everyone and hopefully it will happen again this year, 2019 will be waiting for me to be a bitcoin this year's success.

I don’t know bitcoin yet that time, but after reading a lot of things about bitcoin I can say people are really don’t care about this market at all. Very few people took the risk of buying bitcoin without expecting anything, and right now they are already a millionaire. Yeah many people who did not invest in 2018 must me sad now because now golden year has begun and it will keep increasing in price 2019 will prove as best year this time, people cant make prediction surely about price but they should have faith and it is only faith and determination which gives us profit at the end after investing so I was confident about my future.

Very very weird, can you please get your facts straight? Bitcoin what release in January 2009, so how can someone invest in 2008? And remember 2008 was a financial meltdown as far as I can remember. Lehman collapses, many losses their job, it's a hard time for me and my family. But I'm lucky that I was in the Information Technology sector because despite the hardship, US are off shoring somewhere to cut cost, and I'm lucky I got some job during the crisis in 2008.

The start of 2008 was fairly normal, it was a gradual crescendo but it surprised many and not until Autumn (markets rose July to September) was it completely obvious this effect was ongoing and would not be going away.     Drastic measures were taken, laws were changed and the national debt doubled just to turn around banks from their previous actions.   Even after all that it took till March 2009 for the train crash ground to a halt and markets started to rebuild the lost value in their balance sheets etc

In march 2008 I read an article on Bear sterns going broke and despite warnings written about exters triangle and process of deleveraging (contagion) I thought it was just a bank trouble not a thing that would propagate to every part of the economy.   Pretty much everyone thought that.

My take is that 2008 will repeat, same thing people will be aware and yet drift into troubles of similar or greater magnitude.    The reason 2008 is worse next time is they have already done everything possible, nothing is left to do but take the hit.   You know this is true because none of the 2008 debt was repaid, it is structural failure patched using band-aid holding it to this day

  For sure those who bought in 2018 will have to wait for their good time now in 2019, if they were bought in 2017 and sell in 2018 it was not good too so I think we still have this opportunity in our hands’ just bought in 2018 and I was aware of my inner strength so I did not become so worry about fall I just keep holding and till now I am waiting patiently.

2008/2009 feel like very special year for me, I could feel all the people around me are very different compare to before, they have a lot of worries, I overheard one of my respected senior talking about their worry about their pension, worry about the future generation, worry about their job security, a lot of worry, but as a millennial I have no clue why they're so worry about them.
To flash back it today, I'm still unable to understand all their worries, it may be the reason of age-gap, the one age group that felt stronger came from the older generation.

Well, I would like you to describe what's your feeling about 2008 and why it is so special compare to any other year like 2009,2010,2011 etc.

Also bitcoin was born in this particular year, the emotion must be so strong that it drive Satoshi to finally decide to do it.
