I don't think this kind of system really works. Because we all have different standards for quality. And I've seen some posts that are really helpful and does not get any merits. I also think that there are group of friends here in this forum that exchange each one of merits. They only make their post long enough to make it look like that it is really good but when you read it, it doesn't contain anything interesting.

In the worst case scenario, the bounty manager will get overwhelmed with new load of work by implementing that calculation, since every member has different amount of merit in their account, that is perhaps what makes the bounty manager hesitate to implement it.

Not everyone but some do it. For example, yahoo offers a bonus of $25 each for 4 people who got the most merit. That's how it should be in every campaign. I will launch a bounty soon and I also have applied almost the same approach.

I think its a lot of work to track the merit-status of the postings. Bounty hunters usually write hundrets of posts during an ICO, the manager would need an automatic system to analyze and count those posts. But its definitly a very good idea and worth a look at!

Merit data are public and I do not think that it's too hard to collect merit data. It could be realized by simple parsing of registered participant's profile or by using unofficial open API: https://github.com/mprep-btc/Unofficial-Bitcointalk-API/

Ya, there are definitly ways of tracking it, but the bounty manager has to do all the work to eg. write the code to retrieve the data and I think thats the cause why its not that common

From my own view I think that isn't necessarily, as long as your post of no matter rank requires is being done, it is left for the manager to count and stakes you not going for how qualified or quality the post is base on merit before sharing stakes I think that won't be nice, and extra work for them as well.

I think this is unrealistic, because now a lot of people participate in subscription companies and it’s not easy to check everybody thoroughly!

Interesting idea to give a small bonus for merit, but to deserve merit is very difficult, even for a good and original article you can not get anything.

More than a year ago Merit System was integrated to Bitcointalk forum to make forum messages more informative and quality (or should make it)
That is the question\idea: Why Bounty campaign starters/managers don't use that?
For example it would be an additional bonus for Signature Bounty participants if their message will be merited. It will confirm (in ideal) that the message will be detaily read and estimated and signature will be noticed for sure.

The merit system is more prevalent in bitcoin paying signatures only and not on bounty. Why not bounty? it maybe harsh to hear but some bounty managers are too lazy, heck they will even accept red trust members to participate in their campaigns. Maybe it's hard to check because most bounty accepts 100 participants in one project alone. However, if this is implement there will be less spammers in this community.

Because no one writes the original posts and does not give anything useful to the users of this forum. So they can't earn merit

I bet it wouldn't change at all since that was the bounty campaign rights to set up a new rule like you said. You say this because you want to earn merit right?

Here are too many messages about the complexity of checking merited messages. But it can easely automate. At first the posts link of participant is checked and the second is checking of merit page of participant.
It's about 15-20 strings of code of parcing page source code by using regular expressions.
In fact there is no serious technical difficulties to realize the system
Bounty campaigns use tens of thousand dollars. So it's a good deal to spend few hundred dollars to realize the code that can potentially improve and promote the campaign.

BTC   Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System   BTC
A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution. Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if a trusted third party is still required to prevent double-spending. We propose a solution to the double-spending problem using a peer-to-peer network. The network timestamps transactions by hashing them into an ongoing chain of hash-based proof-of-work, forming a record that cannot be changed without redoing the proof-of-work. The longest chain not only serves as proof of the sequence of events witnessed, but proof that it came from the largest pool of CPU power. As long as a majority of CPU power is controlled by nodes that are not cooperating to attack the network, they'll generate the longest chain and outpace attackers. The network itself requires minimal structure. Messages are broadcast on a best effort basis, and nodes can leave and rejoin the network at will, accepting the longest proof-of-work chain as proof of what happened while they were gone.

Well that's good but getting merit is quite harder, campaigner might resort to cheating if they know that they will be getting more but it's a good compensation so participants will make good post and create a good thread that will interest the community, it's an added incentives.

This might get abused. A lot of bounty hunters control high ranking alts. This means that for a legendary rank, it would be able to utilize its s-merits to increase their other account's merit and increase its reward

I think the main motive for the implementation of signature campaign is to advertise the project and not to reduce spam on the forum so  when a post receives merit, it is to the benefit of the account holder to increase in rank and that's all.

It could happened. But if the reward in Bounty campaign will be less or equal merit's price at black market then the doings will be meaningless.
Now somebody can buy merits to increase the rank and get more rewarded in Bounties. But it's illegal and there is risk of account ban.
But when you create quality content evrybody wins

It is a good strategy to improve up those people who want to earn big stakes every campaign for bounty. But lot of them not even notify this and maybe some bounty managers will approve this process someday.

if manager bounty handles 1 or 2 bounties in my opinion it still applies the idea that you gave but if the bounty manager handles up to 5/8 bounties in my opinion they won't have much time to check each quality post, what's more if the signature participants of each bounty have from 100 participants

Totally agree with you. Such a system of mutual remeritation Grin has a large proportion of subjectivity. For example,
   some user does not know how to express good thoughts;
someone might like the style of the presentation of an almost useless post.

But, in general, it is a good idea, but a non-working idea.

Well, why not use it? There are managers who evaluate the merits received. So, for the presence of a certain number of merits increases the number of stakes.
