You do know that education is a very broad term. Moreover, trust me, educational institution isn't actually the best place to learn about crypto currencies. On average, most of the educational institution are just a place were people are forcefully fed with information that they can not process. They are also forced to study from a defined box of information which is actually a bad thing.
People will need to spread the knowledge about this technology in every way possible which will eventually rise an interest in those youngsters mind.

This is actually interesting. With the growing demand and increasing reputation of cryptocurrencies, having formal education reflects on how the country is adapting and progressing towards this change. Soon enough, college universities would offer elective or alternative classes specifically for cryptocurrencies.

My only concern is instead of focusing on cryptocurrencies, why don't we shift our attention to the overall education of Filipinos? Most of the children living in poverty are neglected of education and this may cause a significant impact on the country's overall development in the future.

Never thought the learning of blockchain to students would start in the Philippines. I have never heard of any stores or any news about anything where Philippine stores are accepting BTC or crypto, why do they have to make it available in the universities when they weren't even one of the countries that are aggressively using blockchain on their technology.

Because we need to be more knowledgeable about cryptocurrency and this is the future currency so why not make it available to the top universities here in the Philippines. NEM Philippines are the one who are actively making cryptocurrency a more friendly to Filipinos. I don't know if the Philippines is the first country to make blockchain technology available in universities but a simple move like this is already a big help for the market.

NEM is all over even in other less progressive countries. They always have a group to promote their own. What I do know though is that the southern philippines has more development with blockchain than near the capital Manila. Cagayan City is more aggressive on blockchain projects which they do have a a blockchain hub, seem a fitting place for universities to have their courses available.

Far too many people in the Philippines and Southeast Asia are unbanked, so by learning more about blockchain technology the people will have more say in their own and community's finances.   There are so many website now where we can take knowledge and information about the blockchain, now blockchain is the mostly used wallet which has very good features and it can keep our investment safe for long term that no one can take it away, we only need to guide those who are in need to educate about it, blockchain has all security feature.

Just by seeing that the news is about Atene De Manila Univesity (ADMU) offering a blockchain related course as an elective shows that we are still far from seeing it be offered for the masses.

That's awesome, and it's at least a good start.  If Filipinos are using bitcoin/blockchain tech as much as I hear they are, it's great that something like this is being offered at the university level.  I hope it's a popular course.

Good thing to be focused on rather than on choosing Blockchain related course but if its just optional then it isnt really that a bad idea.It might be new but building or gaining out

I think the Government, together with the Academic Institutions, having realized the immense benefits and importance of Blockchain technology, should kickstart a nationwide consortium to formalize blockchain technology education in the Philippines. I think just organizing conferences to enlighten people about the blockchain in Philippine might not be able to help so much, I think the best thing to do is to startup a blockchain academy for Philippines were they come and learn about the blockchain to its fullest, you can do it like udemy academy and issue certificate to students who would be able to pass the exams and graduate from the blockchain schools, I believe this way is more effective and it would help create more awareness about crypto than just hosting seminars.

Yup, Philippine Government are very open to adopt crypto and blockchain technology in the Philippines. Soon, most of the Filipinos are very knowledgeable in crypto and blockchain because government is supporting it.
