I have paid the requested fee 517 satoshi, I sent 555 satoshi back in november
a week ago, I still can't post and I have to pay another 1120 satoshi
is that normal the fee is increased after I made payment?

The fee was actually supposed to triple... As a way to get people to pay a fair share on the rates they pay.

Ah. So you've paid off the first third and potentially need to pay the other two is my guess...

If it was paid in November then it was before the fee increase if we're talking about Copper. But ~500 or even ~1000 sat sounds WAY too low for the ~$20 Copper fee. So it's probably the proxy ban, which I think varies by IP a lot.

The evil fees rate also increased along with the Copper Member price.

Or maybe it’s because OP’s IP got more evil units, thus increasing the amount to be paid. We can’t know for sure.

To save yourself from the hustle, if you can, just let go that account. Create another one(Of course refresh your IP address)
And also one thing to keep in mind is that chances of getting this proxy ban are very high when registering using very private browsers like Tor according to my experience so if you can avoid them at least when registering.

According to the OP the fee was paid a long time before the increase but perhaps it was a few sat short. That's the only plausible explanation I can think of. If it was paid in full then the increase shouldn't have affected it retroactively otherwise half of the forum would be banned.

OP paid the evil fee, but never posted.
My guess is the payment is checked at the time of first posting, and because of the increase in fee, OP had to pay the difference again.

The payment is only registered when you revisit the page with the Bitcoin address. I'd guess that you paid, didn't return to the forum for some months, and the price increased in the interim. When I increased the price, there was an automatic grace period which prevented this from happening from eg. one hour to the next, but not over such a long period of time.

If you'd emailed the pbbugs address, I would've accepted the old payment.

@theymos do you acceo the ln yet for these payments? I think it'll make the mainnet blockchain less clogged for when you get the 500 Satoshi if the user opts to pay that way.

I thought this was going to be about getting people to pay in bitcoin to stop them from racking up a large number of accounts to spam or something.

Almost certainly LN will be accepted at some point, but I haven't figured out yet how to do it in a way that I consider reasonable.

ohh... I see. I think I didn't revisit the page immediately after I made my first payment. When I opened it a couple months later, it's showing a new address and total amount reflecting the price increase. Actually even after I made my second payment and reopened (refreshed a few times) the page, I still can't post eventhough the page is not showing payment request anymore. I had to relogin to remove the proxyban warning before I can make my first post. All is good now, thank you Cool
